Sounds like they pulled a Skidoo on ya

Hype up in spring for sales
then just specs at last minute
Does this mean they are selling them cheaper now

Hey fellas, sorry to butt-in on all this complanin', but I'm seriously interested in buying a Z-1. I love the idea of having a 4-stroke, and I've sat on a Z-1 in the showroom and thought it was the most comfortable riding position I've ever felt on a sled. For those of you who've actually had some riding time on the Z-1, what's your seat-of-the-pants opinion (forget the RideX shocks, forget the 121" vs 128", how's the thing workin' for ya)?

Well, I rode it last March and I loved it. Here is a short video from my ride on the lake. Sorry for the bad video, my dad was helping me out and he messed up his hand right before we did this. But, I liked the ride and I have no porblem with the 121 since that is what I rode.

I'm curious why everyone is against the Ryde FX shocks. I've had five Cats with these and never a single problem, all these sleds saw 4,000 to 6,000 miles on them. The two Cats with ACT shocks, I had nothing but grief with them and had to constantly have the shocks rebuilt. Sometimes they wouldn't last through a 500 mile weekend. I just bought a new '07 F 5 because it HAS the Ryde FX shocks.
Just my .02 cents.

well I picked up my jag nov 2nd and every one is partially right yes it did come with the ridex shocks but the owner assured me that they are a great shock and he swears by them. The track is a 128'' track proved it to me on the micro fiche two different part #.The clutch is a three weight.Ithink we all should have known there were going to be changes in the production sled. Now this is what I wasnt to happy about the fit and finish I heard was suposed to be held to a higher standard this on the 07 sleds mine had a really scratched side panel which the dealer took off a floor model 06 I got the red which I thought the paint job below any standards but the black ones I saw were herendous seem the green had the superior paint. The seat had a few buckles on the seams and the more I sat on it the leather seemed to get looser.Last but not least the idle is erratic the rpms float from900-1480 totally warmed up which the dealer told me to bring it back the same day but didnt have the time.I do like the sled and cant wait to hit the trails just wanted to get the true facts out.Almost forgot cat hasnt produced the mirrors yet so that was another let down now I have to bring the sled back for them to install the mirrors.Itook it across my lawn and it seemed pretty awesome the feel is similar to my zr900 long post but needed to be said see you in pittsburg.

THE TRACK IS NOT A 128!!! MY DEALER SWITCHED ME THE EARLY BUILD REAR SKID THAT DROPPED RIGHT INTO THE FINAL PRODUCT RUN. BETTER CHECK THE TRACK # RIGHT ON THE TRACK. THE MICROFICHE # DONT JIVE WITH THE FINAL PRODUCTION!!!

the early build tracks were 121 so I dont know what they were replacing or exchanging if they exchanged one off an early build looks like you have a 121'' now!!!!

Why did he give the early build skid? Just for the shocks or has something else changed? I should be getting mine next week. The dealer got it last night. :div20:

That's a massive looking add-on. Picked my Z1 up last week. 9 hour drive across the border. Only complaint so far (haven't driven it) is the black plastic is smooth and shiney. The previous black plastic had a rougher finish that was more forgiving when slapped with a tree branch. This will show every little mark.

I have a few sources with some engineers at Arctic Cat and they said the Jaguar was meant as a trail sled and they have found that the ride FX shocks work better in the little choppy bumps that is often found on groomed trails, they said it is not to save money but they actually work better and are rated at 10000 miles with no maintenance versus the ACT that recommend rebuilt after one year. For the clutch being a three post, they said that it spins up faster and they didn't need the extra weight to control the power as in the F1000. For the rear skid being 121" vs 128" that was done to keep the bigger storage in the back. If they would've put a 128, they would have to put the smaller F-series trunk. At the end of it all, the new Jaguar should be a better trail sled than the EB.

I just got my dec. issue of pride!!!cats begging us to come in and buy a jag..I think there nervous.internets killing them IMO so now they beg.sales have got to be in the toilet?
they are aiming this jag directly at the 600 120 hp crowd in pride yet don't offer a sno pro version...no faith in this thing or what?
I think cat is really confused or covering it up...I mean what is this sled?
my buddy bought one and his dealer put ohlins on it i think. that should help some.

Fewer idler wheels= less weight
3 tower clutch= proven bullitproof design
RydeFX shocks= less maintanence (I had to rebuild my ACTs)
121" track= ??? Maybe they'll put this on for '08, if the trunk is not an issue

You're right jsteigerptd, if it makes for a better sled, I don't care what the name is on the shocks or how many post the clutch has as long as its an improvement.

I just picked up mine and I am really glad to be back on a Cat! I do mostly trail riding in Quebec so the 121" track and Ryde shocks I think are a slight improvement for me. It looks and feels like one warm comfortable and hopefully maintenance free sled. Just bring on the snow. I got the black one.
