i'm not a loud pipe hater at all, so don't misunderstand, I just can't see droppin 300 for a part that does nothing to better the performance of the sled and do nothing BUT add noise... some cans have actually shown performance losses on stock sleds...
that being said, if i lived out west i'd have twins to let that motor sing... of course I'd spend money else where first then turn to the motor... in any sound sensitive area (you seem to have a mild concern) why even bother??? spend that 300 in other go fast parts, maybe get your shocks revalved or some new skis... sounds like a hassle no-one wants to deal with... over in WI they can hit you up with 3 seperate tickets and have a max fine of like 300 per ticket... that chit is expensive...
imho, the SLP can is the one to have, barely louder than stock at idle and low trail speeds... when you come cruisng past a check point with other sleds they won't give you a second glance cuz of the noise of the other sleds... by yourself though, hmmm, close call

well i want to run a can due to fit, it will be really tight with a stock, which may not even fit. its going in an 440 iq so thats why i am going to run a can, and bonz i am also a firm beleiver in your views about cans and how they are a waste but right not a can looks like an easy way to get the exhaust from point a to point b, and i am trying to get it there the best way and least obniously as possible

SLP does have some new "quieter" cans...ERA 2007 I believe they are called. Not sure if they ProX one is updated yet though.

I have run the following cans at one time or another on 700 Polaris twins.
MBRP trail and race
Sno Stuff
SLP
Bender
The MBRP ( Trail or Race) are too loud for trail use IMO. They definitely lose power too.
The Sno Stuff is nearly as loud as the MBRP, better quality though.
The SLP can is well made, very reasonable at low speed and horny when WFO but acceptably loud. Certainly doesn't lose power.
The Bender can is very well made, has a very nice sound and is not overly loud at any throtle position.
It also seemed to provide improved power and response. It was pretty expensive.
Not sure if Bender still makes the can for the 700 Polaris? Too bad if they don't.

I talked to the guy's from SLP at the big east show about aftermarket cans and the laws. They said that their new cans are in the polaris catalog with a polaris part number, that would make it a legal factory option & not aftermarket . :div20:

Dyno Port owns Bender Racing now and probably made/makes the can they sold. I have used SLP and like their product. I am currently using the Dyno Port on my 700 ves and like it as well. Maybe a puss hair louder.

What are the 3 they can give you. Thats really :fluffy: if its true. I havent run my pipes yet but I know they won't be real loud, but not exactly quiet. I'll definetly attract attention from the fuzz which blows. Between the clear hood showing off that I'm not stock and the sound....
