Well, the cooler weather has come and the Toronto snowmobile show is on soon. The boys and I will be at the show Friday afternoon and then later on over to Formula Kartways for 40 laps of "rubbin' and racin", a bite to eat and then for some "entertainment". So that's got me thinking about what to do this year for a week long tour. We've done Northern Quebec and from Quebec City to Bae Commeau, Gaspe, New Brunswick, Main, etc. etc. But you just can't beat northern Ontario. A couple years back 5 of us rode from Fergus to Cochrane and back and had a blast. Dug out my trail maps and figured that we'd trailer up to just past the French River - Noelville probably. From there we'd do a complete northern tour including perhaps Sportmans Lodge, Rocky's, Shining Tree, Gogama, a stay at Post 392 (OMG the food!), Cochrane for some ribs (hot tub too), a trip to Abitibi Canyon could be in order to play in the hills, Kapuskasing, Hearst, Hornepayne, Dubreuivile, a run down the Magpie River into Wawa, Halfway Haven for a night - (hot tub - great food), Spanish, a ride on the Georgian Bay Lake trail to Killarney and then back to Noelville.
This would be a ride for SERIOUS, EXPERIENCED, snowmobilers that love to ride, that don't mind riding 250 - 350 mile days and running hard - 70, 80, 90 MPH - so you will need a reliable, properly serviced, late model sled. Oops, sorry, I mean 50 Km /HR...grinning-smiley-023.gif. We will always be where we want to be before dark whenver possible. You can't see anything at night and the chances of something going wrong are greater and harder to deal with at night. So usually shut them down by 5:00 PM whenever possible. I have been riding since 1970 ( Motoski Capri). I have many years experience riding these trails and doing week long tours. Done them with just me and another guy, done them with as many as 9 guys. If you like to be on the trail by 8:00 AM, don't have to stop for smoke breaks every 20 minutes, and think you would like to come along on a tour like this contact me. The best time is usually 3rd week or last week of February. It's been my experience that small groups work best. Group of 6 would be ideal. Break out your maps. Let me know your thoughts.....
Winter is way too short! Live to ride! Ride to live!

I may take you up on that offer, especially if there is a Post 392 stop  It looks like you have been riding longer than I have been on this silly planet, can I still come??

Do those go-karts have any kind of timers, or is it just the first guy across the finish line??

So you only ride for 5-6 hours a day (350 mi/70 mph)?? dunno.gif Sounds like a cool trip though... how far from Detroit?

Wow, you're not kidding about riding hard lol.
Are you talking about Nobel? (not Noelville)

Anyways, a group of us are going to Cochrane for a week, around the second week of February.
Gonna do the canyon and Post 392.
We're also doing a run to Wawa for a long weekend (ohhh the Magpie!).
Not sure which weekend we'll be going though.
Hubby also wants to ride the French and Pickle River bridges (if we get a chance lol)
This will be my first year riding in Cochrane and Wawa

We're also doing another run to Parry Sound, but this time it'll be backwards...
From home to Huntsville, Seguin Trail to Parry Sound then home :div20:

Gonna be an interesting winter :beerchug:

We'll be at the sled show on Saturday.

Of course you can come. You should be able to keep up thisyear as I will be riding the Apex and not the ZR9. Formula Kartways gives you a slip with your lap times when your done. The quickest lap time gets bragging rights as does first to finish but the fun is who hit who the hardest usually! Be takin' to ya.

No, Noelville. Countryside Inn.

Sorry, my bad. :beerchug:
I was thinking Nobel, which is just north of Parry Sound and south of Point Au (x?) Baril (Sudbury way)

I haven't been go-karting, but what kind of times are you guys doing??

Will have to put on some "Rocky" sound track and start training. LOL :beerchug:

BTW- Do you still have the ZR??
