Hi,
I'm newbie to this forum but read almost all the FST classic posts last winter as guest. Had one ordered last year but ended up canceling it. I got tired of waiting for the gear fix. Thanks for the info. from everyone on this form. They would have sold me the sled not telling me about the gear issue. I wasn't without a sled so I was in no hurry to get it.

Anyway, I'm waiting for the dealer to call me to pick up my '07 FST LX. Could someone tell me how long of studs I need to buy and since this is a longer track then standard, how many studs would I need to get to do the 144 pattern?

welcome to HCS :beerchug:

Mine came with the 1 inch hacksaw track so you need the 1.075 lenth studs (and tunnel protectors). I went with woody's 5/16 gold digger traction master. I only studded the center of the track (so it will last longer)and the dealer told me 153 studs would give me 3 per rib. I stud for safety on ice so 153 was enough for me,but if you want more for acceleration that's up to you.

I agree with zeusand, about 153 studs will work. You can go up to 187 if you would like. 1.075's and make sure you replace your tunnel protectors (it is possible to go up to 1.175's).

Thanks! I think the 153 is what I'll go with. I think I'll also go with them down the center. I have them down the center on my '01 Classic. 96 in a repeating V. I think I'll call my dealer tomorrow to see if it's in yet. I'm getting anxious to rip up my lawn.
