i have just recently bought a slp can for my 900 fusion and was going to have it put on but after talking to a dealer they recommended that i don't because they don't help with horse power and they are loud they saidit would be a waste of money anyone have one and what are your thoughts about this? thanks any imput would be appreciated.

I have one on my 06, it is a little louder than stock, not obnoxious. As far as HP loss, who can tell without a Dyno. I wouldn't waste the money having a dealer put it on, it is very easy to do yourself.

I also put one on my 06. Definately a throatier sound but not loud. as far as a hp increase or decrease...I lost no performance. What I did lose was a pile of weight though.

Add a Timbersled air intake and you're probably looking at a 25 lb. weight loss up front :div20:

be careful about db-restrictions in many states, My state is cracking down on noise to the point of (quote from the Snowmoble manual from our DNR) "any exhaust modifications done to your exhaust system to make the snowmobile louder, or change the exhaust tone in any way from factory specifications is a violation of state law and a ticketable violation with a mandatory monetary forfeiture" (read; FINES)

So basiclly if the exhaust is not the factory installed system (even if it is actually quiter) is against the law now.
I can partially understand this since 90% of our trails are on privately owned property that the land owners so graciously granted permission to our local clubs to route trails on. And so many have been denied access lately becuase of loud sleds.

But the part about any modifications if the sound level is the same or lower than the factory equipped sound is stupid in my thoughts.
And the horsepower gains are minimal on a fusion i, most cause a loss of horsepower/torque anyways without other modifications to the powertrain that are usually considered a warranty voiding issue (depends on the dealer too)

i was curious does it have any offect with a clutch kitt and the reflash from slp when putting one of these on? cause i have had all these done plus the slp air intake?

I puy a slp can on my 05 900 and it killed my performance big time.Dropped some weight but for me it was a total waste of money.Put a full exhaust and an airbox and then you will see a major improvement.
