Hey all,

Wondering what the differences are in the PPS shocks that came in the edge? the original PPS, then PPS 2, then PPS 3

Is it worth looking for one over the other? Thanks!

Pps1 came out in the 99 00 xc's, not in edges. 01 they came out with the pps2, which is steel bodied, schrader valve. 03 they came out with the pps3 which is basically the same internally as the 2 but with a steel body and a fox air valve for filling with nitrogen. I would opt for the pps3 just for being aluminum.

Thanks a ton! So 01 edge skid from a 800xc is the pps2? Thanks!!!

Yep, i forgot to mention the pps3 has FIST which is fox ice scraper technology, that is priceless, big benefit on the shock. Get that thing revalved and its got best of both worlds.

I can't find much info on FIST is it some sort of mechanism that scraps ice away from the shock rod and won't let it puncture the seal near the body?

Thanks again!

yes, fist basically changes one seal (actually a plastic scraper) with a brass scraper and o ring. It works nicely.
