I was thinking about doing the slp air intake, is it worth it?do you have to gut the air box?and what main jets are you runnin?I met a guy in tug hill with a dragon that had it with the baffle that he put 2 2in holes in it and was running 380's.just was wondering?I was going to do but leave the baffle in it?or do the 2 holes and leave my 400 in it.

By itself, with no other mods, IMO, not worth much power (1 hp). With other mods, i.e. big bore, pipes, bored carbs/carb boots, it becomes worth more power.

IMO, it's not that big of an asset. Not worth the extra intake noise.

I agree, a waste of money with no other significant mods. 600 simply doesn't need the extra air unless there is a reason for it like pipes, porting, big bore, etc.

On my 660 w/ SLP twins, the motor gained 100 rpm by installing the box top, gutting the box, and recorrecting the jetting. Independent dynos have shown that its worth 3-4hp on modified setups. I also like it because its easier to install a tempaflow and easier to reinstall the airbox, since you can reach right down inside. The pipes drowned out the added intake noise, but its noticeable with a stock can.
