I just went from an 800 edge to a 2006 fusion 700. Wondering what the chain length/tooth count is. Is the center line spacing different than an edge? Has anybody tried a 25/41 or a 25/42 combination? I have some sprockets from my edge that i can try. Are the 700s/900s the same as far as driveline specs as I dont see a whole lot of info about the 700.

26/40 is stock, i have 25/40 in right now and the biggest difference is clutch temps are wayyy cooler and it isn't eating belts anymore ( I also added a Timbersled intake and SLP tourque stop and push arm around the same time, might have something to do with it too). I did have to reweight because it was overrevving, I put in 11-72 weights and it is pulling the correct RPM now. It is really quick to 90-100mph , seat of the pants it is hard to tell how muck quicker then stock if at all, I did loose some on top. I have seen 108mph after the regear for my best speed, not to bad for a 300# rider I guess. I am still dealing with some inconsistancy however, there are times it pulls 100-105 freaking rite now and then there are times I can't get it over 95mph if I hold it for a mile. I am hoping a good cleaning of the clutches and replacing my springs will rectify this, we'll see. Overall I'd say gearing down is a good thing just from a clutch temp standpoint IMO. Not sure on chain lengths, sorry

was it inconsistent before you changed the weights? Sounds like somethings hanging up in the clutch for sure.

It has always been a little inconsistant but seemed to be worse later in the year, I'm guessing a good cleaning of the clutches will help as will a new secondary spring, I don't think the weights have anything to do with it dunno.gif
