I have a 98 700 exhaust in a 99 edge roller chassis. So it will fit in an edge as well, with a little persuasion.

I am wondering of something similar. My stock 00 xc 700 has a monster for a can. I think the 99 in the gen 11 is a lighter, will it work? Would the can in a 97 work in my gen 11?

Sorry to hijack your thread Red.

In 00, Polaris introduced the "Sound reduction package" with the suitcase muffler. If you want to use a 99 muffler in 00, I think you'll have to relocate the bellypan hole.
An alternative could be to get a lightweith 00 muffler from Dynoport or SLP.

Yes, the hole in the belly pan will have to be moved back to accomodate the new down hole. I just made a piece of aluminum to cover the openings and stop snow from coming in. I think the plastic around the outside edge of the belly pan has a spot for the mount, mine had two positions. Also, you will need to have a new support made up and rivet in place. I chopped the old one and fabricated a little support to make up the difference in the height. True, the 98 can is very much smaller than the turkey baster in the 00 and yes it will be louder as a result. My sled is just as loud with the stock exhaust as it was with the SLP pipe and can, just sounds different.

99 700 wasn't an Edge chassis, it was a Gen 2.

xcr1250,
I believe he's referring to the early release race sled..?

Thanks Ivar. I know we have talked before. It is indeed an 99 edge roller chassis, with a 98 700 from the Polaris race shop
