wow, a little news out of IP.

So let me get this straight, the guy rips off a local merchant, gets caugth, is not going to jail and then decides to hit the officer who arrested him and you think it is great. I think I can safely speak for all police officers when I say you, sir, are an absolute idiot. I bet if YOU were the one ripped off you would want the bad guy strung up and be pissed because the officer did not take him to jail for it.


I have been a police officer in Vermont for over 13 years. It has been experience that those who cheer loudest when someone assaults an officer are the ones who jeer loudest when they are victims. Grow up and get a little perspective.

Oh please! Take it easy. I was just saying that because its teddy i dont know if you know him but everybody else on this site and many other sites know him. I wouldnt have even replied to it. If it was any other officer i probably would have given a thumbs up also. SO JUST TAKE IT EASY FELLAS!

To the Editor:

In regards to Theodore Miller, Brighton/Island Pond's answer to Rosco of the Dukes of Hazard. After years of reading about this man in The Caledonian-Record, I finally got to meet him in person. The honor cost me about $229.00, for running a stop sign in the center of town, which never happened. I stopped, pulled ahead a few feet into the road to see around a car on the left of the intersection, and then pulled out. I was immediately pulled over by the same car that was in the way. Making matters worse, we are from N.H. and don't always wear our seat belts. We had just stopped at a store down the street and had forgotten to buckle up. We would have eventually, as my wife would have reminded us. It was okay to give a ticket for that, but I believe it's not okay to dream up bogus stop-sign charges to add onto the seat-belt violation. I would love to compile a file on all of the people that truly believe they got ripped off by the constable of Brighton/Island Pond, and whoever the equivalent of Boss Hogg may be there.

Victims please e-mail me with your stories (tjnhmustang@yahoo.com) and we will see if we can return the favor using the truth. I paid my fine, without admitting guilt, because we thought we would have to go way back up there to court. (We found out later it would have been in Guildhall, Vt. - only six miles from where we live.) Live and learn. Please get back to me, friends of Mighty Mouse. We may want to send him a get well card, since he got decked trying to make a real arrest.

Given that I have never met the man I have no opinion on his tactics. However, I do have a problem with someone assaulting ANY law enforcement officer when they are doing their job.

I have a novel idea. Instead of posting here and saying how unfair and invalid this guys tickets are why not prove it? Drive through IP with video camera. This will clearly show if you stopped at a stop sign or not. When he writes you a ticket take it to court with the video showing you did stop. You get to be a hero to everyone here and no one gets beat up.

Im sure if you were to video tape it im sure teddy would have another reason to arrest you. He comes up with all kinds of laws like waiting at a stop sign for 6 seconds and putting both feet on the ground if your riding a motorcycle. Teddy is total bullshit and everybody knows that. That is, everyone thats been through island pond. I have total respect for what every officer does and has to go through every day, and i do know that the dumb ass deserves to be arrested thats stole the food and gas but geez! ive been pulled over probably by a hundred cops in my years and have never been harrased as much as he has harrassed me and probably a thousand other people on this website and many others for petty little things. In the 6 years i have been riding a sled i have never seen a town go down so fast in population of people riding sleds. I actually started riding in island pond and remember snowmobilers everywhere gassing up, drag racing on a nice plowed track, people eating at all the establishments etc,etc,etc. But every time i go there now its like a ghost town kinda weird and maybe its not because of teddy but hes got to be part of the problem. I know me and the guys will only go to island pond on our sleds to gas up only if it is absolutely neccessary and i know very well we dont drive our trucks through that damn town.

Some of us actually work for a living, taking a day off from work, paying a hundred for gas to round trip it to Guidhall doesn't seem like a bargin to have a go at it with that douchbag in court. It would be a grand day if someone beat him up next time using a 38, he has certainly earned it.

HOLY SHIT, I know that kid... his dad was my soccer coach for years and his mom summer tutored me for years also... he was a yr behind me in school... crazy. He has some issues for sure.

Got me twice. First time It was snowing like crazy and the roads were slippery as hell I came down to the stop sign and couldn't get it slowed all the way down the truck kept sliding I was lucky to keep it out of the woods. Second time I started to pull into the post office plaza on the 105 side and realized that it was do not Enter and turned around there at the sign and he pulled me over for entering and I didn't. Yes he's a dick...

he's not even a real cop, just one of them wanna-be constapaited constables.
