I downloaded just the midwest for both and had plenty of room on a 1 gb card? How do I know its there? Also is mapsoruce trips and waypoint manager just for the pc or am i supposed to download to my gps(if that's even possible)?

Uploads of detailed maps do not over write the basemap, but each time you upload detailed maps it does over write your previous detailed maps. Your basemap is always there no mater what...it's just covered when you have detailed maps installed. Note that if you uploaded maps from TOPO and CNav for the same area one will cover the other and I think CN has priority over Topo...so you won't see any topo maps.

To see what maps are loaded there is a list you can view (see page 45 of your manual)...go to Map Setup...Information Page. Also see page 43...Map Setup...General Page....make sure map detail is set to most if you want to see all the detail your maps provide.

Did you upload both the Topo and CN at the same time? If you uploaded Topo first and then went back and uploaded CN Topo would have been over written.

Are you sure? i thought you could have topo and CN at the same time but of course only display one at a time? I only have topo personally but i swear the dealer showed me a screen where you toggle between different map types.

I see so your saying you can have only one downloaded map at a time. If thats true it blows! Yes I loaded topo first then CN.

You can upload maps from both Topo and CN at the same time...in Mapsource use the Map Tool to pick the maps you want from Topo then on the drop down list switch over to CN then pick the maps you want from CN...when you have all the maps selected from both Topo and CN upload the combined mapset.

Like I said before: "Note that if you uploaded maps from TOPO and CNav for the same area one will cover the other and I think CN has priority over Topo...so you won't see any topo maps."

Your dealer is right...there should be a toggle to turn installed maps off and on....example...if you uploaded maps from Topo and CN for the same area CN will cover Topo so you would have to toggle the CN maps off in order to see Topo and if you toggled Topo off you would see the base map....and you can even toggle the base map off for a blank screen.

Yes I uploaded topo first then CN for the same area(midwest) and I don't see topo maps at all just CN. This really sucks if there is no way to have 2 maps. Can I just buy another micro-sd card and put 1 map on each?

No, you can have multiple maps of the same area installed/downloaded at the same time. You have to toggle on/off the one map you want displayed...you cannot display more than one map at a time. Just like RWS posted above:

"Your dealer is right...there should be a toggle to turn installed maps off and on....example...if you uploaded maps from Topo and CN for the same area CN will cover Topo so you would have to toggle the CN maps off in order to see Topo and if you toggled Topo off you would see the base map....and you can even toggle the base map off for a blank screen"

I don't have my unit with me right now, but seem to remember pressing the "Cancel" button a couple of times will get you to the "Displayed Mpas" page.

You could have two cards but why?

Again....

You can upload maps from both Topo and CN at the same time...in Mapsource use the Map Tool to pick the maps you want from Topo then on the drop down list switch over to CN then pick the maps you want from CN...when you have all the maps selected from both Topo and CN upload the combined mapset....in ONE upload

You have to upload both sets of maps in ONE upload. If you upload Topo alone then upload CN on a second upload it will over write Topo.

Once you have both maps uploaded you can toggle the CN off and Topo will show.

You'll get it...just keep playing with it... :div20:

Thanks I will do it again in 1 upload, That manual just puts me to sleep when I start reading it :sleep3: . Thanks again for the help! :div20:
