Usualy I peel it off using a little heat (hair dryer) and then clean the sticky residue with WD40. A bit of a pain, but gets the job done. Anyone else have a better, easier, faster method?

Heat from the "inside" works great especially if you intend to re-use the sticker. This year the ugly thing is going on the side of my sled below the numbers.

Do NOT put your permit on the side of your sled, unless you want to get pulled over alot this winter. The trail permit must be visible from the front of the machine. The OPP, local cops and trail partol wont give you a hard time if they can see your permit as you approach them. There are only two approved locations for your Ontario Permit and they are on your windshield, or on the hood, but they perfer them to be on the windshield.

Not only will local Cops, but OPP and Trail Patrol guys will stop you too. You may be asked to move it, or you may get a fine for not having it in the proper location.

If you do choose to put it on the side of your sled, then good luck.

BTW you cant re use a permit, they are now registered to the sled they are bought for. When buying a permit you have to give your VIN number. And the permit is only good from Dec 1 - Mar 31 not the whole year.

Try Goo-Gone instead of WD40. You can ge it at Canadian Tire, probably WalMart too.

What I do...go to your local decal shop and ask them for a sheet of the paper they make the decals out of. Put your pass on it, cut around it, then put it on your sled. All you have to do is use the hair dryer to warm it a bit and it'll peel right off without any glue or residue like the pass itself would leave.

And before someone tells me...I know this isn't allowed, but if you cut the piece out exact, they can't tell the difference. I don't do it to use on other sleds as it doesn't stick well once you take it off the first time, but just to make it easy to take off at the end of the season. :div20:

This doesn't sound like anything new.

Pull the sticker off and use a gas soaked rag to remove the residue. No :share_doobie: though as that would be an issue. flame.gif

I use gas too, it workes the best so far.. that GOO GONE stuff is shit, I used it one time and it smeared the resisual glue all over the damm place

Kevo
killer
wd40, hair dryer, credit card (or equivilant) then wd40 and some elbow greese will get all the goo off

Use Olive Oil to remove the glue residue - Sounds funny but it works!
Red Rocket
Peel off the sticker.

Wipe off glue with a rag and varsol.

Guess I will get stopped a lot than. Not going to mess up a chrome windshield.

so WD doesn't hurt the windshield?
