I want to get a new sled this year and Ive narrowed it down to the Mach Z or a 2000-01, SRX. I figured I would kinda like to try a skid oo for a few seasons. I just got a few questions about the 99 Mach Zs
1. Were these a relaible sled?Is the motor bullet proof? This is huge to me.
2. How is the MPG riding hard and just cruising?
3. How do they handle in fast, twisty trails?
4. Is the suspension all right? I ride groomed trails and fields must of the time any ways.
5. Is it hard to get these sleds to hook up good off the line?
Thanks for your time guys.

MOTORS were basically bullet proof, weak stators though.
FUEL mileage, i would normally get around 110 miles to a tank,
plus if you are buying for speed, who cares about fuel mileage, just dont pass a gas station.
The key to handling, is an aggressive carbide....LOTS and LOTS !!!
and you will definitely work up a swett through the twisties.....
actually really fast from corner to corner too.
Suspensions were upgraded in 2000, but for mostly groomed yours will be fine.
As for HOOK UP, i changed out my track for an 1 1/4" and loved it on the trails.

I have owned both of these sleds.Reliabilty and handling go to the srx.Speed and suspension go to mach z.Im all about speed so i like the mach better but you cant go wrong with either one.

The Mach's motors are pretty bulletproof, my brothers has 6000 miles on it and the motor has never been touched but it has had a stator. They are a GREAT flat cornering sled , it pretty much lives to be rode hard on the river, that is it's home :div20: , Nothing better then going into a corner on the gas and seeing the inside ski pretty much hanging limp in the air when the throttle is pinned :div20: . Not a very good ditch sled but OK on groomed trails. They like LOTS of carbide as earlier stated.
