I own a Garmin 60csx that I bought last year and love the unit. It works fantastic and has given me zero problems so far. My one and only complaint is that there is limited storage capacity for tracks. (ie. the unit will only hold 20 seperate tracks) Does anyone know which unit would be comparible to the 60csx that would allow me to store umpteen more tracks (ie. several hundred) or is there a way to make my unit do this. I have thought of getting a larger memory card, but don't think it will solve my problem. Please advise.

polaris1234 that's why I switched over to Magellan and picked up the eXplorist XL. It will allow me to save tracks to the SD card. It will allow only 2000 points per track (sucks) but I can save as many as I want. I was hoping Garmin would come out with this feature but they didn't so I stayed away from there "X" models.

Can't you just get a bigger microsd card, and save them on there? I know it will take a 1 gb card.

Your unit can only use 20 saved tracks for navigation, but can store unlimited (up to memory card limit) tracks in GPX format for use in MapSource or other mapping programs. Go to Using Tracks pages 26-27 in your manual on how to set up track recording to your card.
You can then edit and use these saved track files for later use in your GPSr.
try editing your tracks numbers down with the Track Editing Tools in Mapsource...
make maps of your tracks...
or try this:
you can load the 20 tracks with 500 points each in the Saved Track space...
plus you have 10,000 points that can be used in the Active Track so you have the option of loading another 20 tracks with 500 points each...or 10 with 1000 points or however you want to filter your track points down to...you need to turn tracking off in this situation as the Active Track is now full and you don't want over right...here's how you do it...rename the 20 tracks or whatever number you have to ACTIVE LOG 1...ACTIVE LOG 2...ACTIVE LOG 3 etc...this will force the tracks to load in your Active Track space..
if you want to be recording tracks you'll have to leave some space...calculate the estimated mileage of track you want to record...lets just say 200 miles...set the interval to say .10 mile...you'll need 2000 track points for recording...that leaves you with 8000 points to load saved tracks into the Active Track area...so in this example you load 20 in the Saved Tracks plus another 16 at 500 points each in Active Track and have space to record 200 miles of track at .10
