Which drag strip do you hang out at?
I prefer Thompson Raceway Park myself.

Whats the riding like around Erie? Is there much of a trail system? Where are some places that I can park the truck and trailer and unload and get on the trail?
tnt Was that your 89 Mach I on ebay? Why you selling? You looked for one of those for a while I thought.

Actually as long as you are not an axe murderer you :frech32: you can park near my house and jump on the trails.
I am looking forward to going to Marienville this winter.
Yes that was my 89 Mach 1 on eBay. I have been waffling with selling it because I have wanted an 89 - 90 Mach1 for a long LONG time. I still would like a 90 Mach1 to be it's twin or if I found another 89 in as nice or nicer shape. At this point I would prefer the 90 Mach1 because they came with other updates that the 89 didn't have.
The reason I listed it is because I have my interest peaked on getting a Formula III.
Also I am looking for an open 2 place tilt trailer to haul the pair of Mach's and I am looking for a smaller DOO sled for the kids.

unfortunately, the sled never made it to any drags this year. too many projects. went to spectate at thompson a time or two. will be out in full force in the spring, too much money going to waste.
as far as the trails in erie, you can park at alot of the bars, home tavern, teezers, mound grove. the list goes on. just stop in and let them know. the trails arent bad, better the farter east you get. and a week or two into a good snow and they get beat down. but still fun.
gonna have 2 polaris' for sale a 95 xlt reverse and elec start, and a 95 indy 500 with reverse, if anyone knows of someone looking

Thanks for the info. Always seems to be snow up there and nothing down here and sometimes not enough in Marienville but you guys up there have some. Just looking to find some more riding area.
The formula IIIs are nice. I always liked them too. I had a 89 Mach I too. Not as nice as shape as yours. The previous owner painted it purple with a metallic in it. Didnt look bad. Had twin DG pipes on it that gave it a very nice sound. Nothing annoying, just a nice little bark.

I really like the 89 Mach and as I said earlier would like a 90 Mach to go along with it. My wife's 94 Mach is really nice too. It would be neat to find a wrecked 93-95 Mach with the 670 and transpant the engine. I have always been into "sleepers" and that would be one for sure.
This season I also want to go to Moraine State Park and do some riding.

Oh well, hopefully there will be another swap meet.
Hey I have a question. I am wanting to pick up some parts for my 2 PRS Mach 1's, you know, wear items. I am a bit cornfused on what kind of wear bars to get. I see so many people hitting the roads, literally, with sparks a flying off the skis.
Now I am not THAT type to punish my machine but with the kind of trails we have in our area what should I get for wear bars? Hard bars? Carbides? If carbides there is a plethora of th em out there so how much or how little do I need?
Also I haven't seen ski skins for either of my sleds but if I find them are they worth it?
Thanks t'nt

Oct 9 2006, 10:51 AM
True story - I ended up selling it to a guy I work with for $250 and a case of beer. He rode it for a bit then traded it for a furnace and ductwork...bought it back for $50, then sold it again for $250.00, whoever had it after that grenaded the motor.
That sled water retarded fast in the summer - would run fine, no problems, but in the cold weather it would hard run - foul plugs and backfire and heat seize after about 10 minutes.
I was more than happy to get rid of it.

Funny you should mention that I would have seen the posts about the meet. I was shocked to see how many posts there was afterwards. I just didn't get notified.
If you are heading up my way email me, you should have my address. If I am heading your way I'll let you know.

Lake Effect Snow Advisory
... Lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM EST
this afternoon...
A lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM EST this
afternoon.
The lake effect snow will continue to be light initially this
morning. Less than an inch of snow is expected through morning
rush hour. However... a weak upper level disturbance will move over
the area later this morning into this afternoon causing the lake
effect snow to once again increase. Another 2 to locally 4 inches
of snow is possible today mainly inland of Interstate 90. Near the
Lake Shore... 1 to locally 3 inches of snow can be expected today.
The snow is expected to diminish this evening... although up to an
additional 2 inches is possible overnight tonight.
