Has anyone done this to their sled? I keep hearing the 600 likes a hot pipe , does coating help? Any feedback is appreciated. I would think this eliminate the hot foot syndrome also.

I had my y-pipe and pipe coated in the spring for that reason. Obviously haven't rode it yet. Also had the muffler coated to see if it would help on the sometimes hot right foot.

Nice , thanks. Once she gets back form the carb update I think I'm gonna do it. Is it any heavier can I use the same springs?

It has to be a little heavier , but I didn't weigh it. Never really thought what extra weight powder coating a system adds. Maybe a pound? Same springs.

I really do not think you are gonna see a measurable weight difference by ceramic coating your pipe. It is only .0015 - .002" thick. You are however, going to drop some weight by not having to re-install your shields on the pipe... :div20:

On the Fuse6, the right side hood cable rubs heavily on the upper pipe heat shield. It would wear off the ceramic coating in no time. I'm still gonna run the shield, at least the upper, but probably both.

I'll have to check that cable out. I'll probably just leave the heat shield on. Thanks, I never thought of that.

Should you replace the gasket at the y-pipe on reinstall or can you use the same one?

Better have a pair on hand. they usually tear.

You can reuse them as long as they are in good shape. Try to keep the orientation of the y pipe donut the same though, as it wears a bit when new and conforms to the pipe.
