A friend asked me to help with cleaning and adjusting his carbs. What would be a good base setting for the screws and jets. It will be used from 0-2000ft, and must be safe. Thanks for any replies.

do a search for 500's....this ws a topic just alitlly while ago check like maybe page 5 and higher....some one will anser to this is an awsome website!!!!!!!!

370 mains -20 to +10 /350s for +10 to +40/330s for above 40

45 pilot

9FH4-57-3 jet needle

P-6 needle jet

1.5 cutaway

2.0 pilot screw

1500 rpm idle

Youll have to play around with your mains and clip position cause she likes to be jetted tight. She should pin out @ 8250 no more than that. It might have a little low end stumble @ slow trail speeds (around 5000 rpm) for which I never did cure.
