Need a little help...
'00 ZL 500 EFI. I want to replace 4 drive/driven shaft bearings (both shafts). A/C parts show 4 different bearings:
1602-290 (Old 0107-123) BEARING, 1 W/LOCK-(LARGE RACE)
Driven Shaft, Clutch
1602-375 (Old 0107-074) BEARING,1.00 W/COLLAR
Drive Shaft, Clutch
1602-973 (Old 0107-223) BEARING,7/8 INCH W/ SLINGER & O-RING
Driven Shaft, Chain Case
1602-972 (Old 0107-224) BEARING,1 INCH W/ SLINGER & O-RING
Drive Shaft, Chain Case
Can somebody help me match these OEM #'s up with some aftermarket #'s...

...actually, if somebody could just post the numbers on the back of the OEM bearings, we could then do cross reference, correct? Just can't cross the A/C number.

http://www.royaldistributing.com/Perhaps the NTN bearing charts in the Royal "winter" catelog would help you. Link attached.

Just got back from the bearing shop (BDI, Cleveland, OH). 3 Of the 4 A/C bearing numbers (Fafnir & Peer) are proprietary bearings. Meaning: A/C owns that bearing & spec. Nobody else has or makes it. May be able to find something close but not the same as A/C part. The 4th bearing (forgot which part number) is sold to A/C but is not proprietary. Meaning: A/C and others use the bearing. Only problem - 30 day backorder on bearing and cost around $20 which is about the same as A/C dealer will charge you. Glad I just broke down and bought the A/C bearings. Probably the reason I've been told, referenced on-line and found in catalogues, so many different bearing numbers. Probably also why so many people complain about early bearing failure. Most people aren't using the proper bearings...

I get my bearings from a local industrial bearing supply house. If you take the original bearings to the shop they will match up alternates for you. It was my AC dealer that told me to go to this place instead of paying for the Cat parts. What may be unique to the Cat parts maybe the o-ring seal that some have and if the one face seal is perforated for gease penetration, but the inner and outer race sizes will should be standard sizes.

they should just be standard bearings. We usually get spindale bearings for a commercial lawn mowers from work.
