Over on Snowest, a guy had said he got to try the new belt by mitsubishi last spring, he was able to get over 1,200 miles on it and it still looked new, his atempts to destroy it failed.
it then went on another sled, and that rider could not destroy it!!
This was a mission to try & destroy this belt, and it could not be done!!!
he said he sidehilled it for several miles in the real deep stuff, long vertical pulls at full throttle, nothing bothered this new belt at all. Clutches were real hot as expected, but the belt held up!!
his normal belt life on the 1080's 1098's and 111's was always less than 200 miles.
Sounds impressive guys,
BTW, he is also using the SLP arms since they became available. and his RMK still ate belts.
But the Mitsu took the abuse and begged for more!!
lets hope this is the real thing guys!!! Fusion owners fuel & oil cost should be more than belts cost's over a season of riding.

Mitsuboshi makes some seriously durable belts. They are known as the best belt guys in the car business.

correct that belt will be coming out soon. i never had belt probs either. the 1080 lasted about 1200 miles on sled when stock and was shot. on modded sled i ran the 111 and lasted about the same. 111 belts were hit and miss for quality a lot of guys 111 belts only lasted a few hundred miles.

believe it or not, my fusion never destroyed a belt. The sad part is probably because it never had the power, or ran long enough to tear one apart. They would get "fuzzy" real fast, but it never actually shredded a belt into un-identifiable little pieces. or flung parts through the bodywork like somei've seen.
I did see one guy on the side of the trail last spring that blew a belt, and it tore a huge hole right through his belly-pan. This guy was PISSED!!! he had to be in his upper 50's, low 60's, been riding all his life, got his fusion as a left-over for a killer price, and the sled looked like it went through a shredder up front from that belt coming apart. it also destroyed the airbox severly. I stopped to see if he needed help, of course.

WOW $170 U.S. for a belt that is unbefrickanbelievable! Boy I hope that it is as good as that 3211111 belt that I bought for $150 Canadian, and it lasted 133 miles.LOL.

Don't even get me started about that stupid 111. Mine only lasted 300 miles, I've never blown a 080 since they took my original with 1400 miles when they gave me the 111 and the 080 that I put on after shredding the 111 is still going fine after about 1000 miles. And that 111 made my sled vibrate like craze, a problem that I've never had with a 080.
Count me OUT for the $170 new and improved belt.

I bought two Ultimax XS belts last year and still have a brand new one left for this year. Dollar for dollar the XS is very tough belt. I run 192 1.450" studs and usually pull a hole shot every time I stop. The XS took all of the abuse I could throw at it, all season.

I think the 3211115 is $140, not $170.
Doo charges $135 for their premium Mach Z belt. I think that is a Mitsuboshi.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Mitsuboshi belt is MBL 3 Stars.....they have been around the snowmobile business for a very long time.
On the other hand, I had fantastic luck with Gates Xtreme belts last year. Everyone in our group that switched to Gates had no issues....

Did you have to reshim the clutches for the Ultimax?

I have never had good luck with the ultimax belts, they seem to hard and get a shine on them quick. I have tried them on a slightly tweaked 600 triple, and they seemed to tear up the clutches a bit.
So, $170.00 USD? Or Can.?
So $170.00 USD (?) for a belt to last all season? or spend $300.00 on several belts, busted airbox & bellypan, and maybe some new pistons thrown in the mix too from eating the blown apart 1080, for more coin than the $170.00 belt?
if these are holding up to big-bore mountain sleds in deep powder, I am getting one, I hate changing belts out on the trail!

Checked today (3211115) 175.00 dealer list . Dealer called Polaris and they said that # is the belt that comes on the 07 600 and 700 rmk sleds . All the others have same belt as last year . Called HTG today they said there 1250 had no problem tearing them up. :smilielol: Thats also a 200+ hp sled in grass.

errrmmmm....actually my point with that post was to show the price the poo dealer system gives us up here. It does come up as "available in US". Normally that means if we order it takes a while longer to get parts because it is not in stock in Canada.

Comp fuse,
I wasn't busting your chops,
I was just asking if the price you mentioned was USD or the goofy colored money you guys use up there. LOL
my switchback has shown no wear on it's belt yet which suprised me after having the fusion. But I am still more confident in my chioce to get the expensive Mitsu belt considering all the 1080 delam issues, and the utter destruction they cause to the IQ chassis sleds when they blow apart.

This to me seems key.. It blows, you get it replaced for free unlike Polaris.. Maybe I should switch to those belts instead of worrying about paying $150/belt

The 3211080's usually measure around 1.400" and the 3211111 and the XS's are 1.465"-1.475". I had to reshim for the XS's but I had reshimmed for a .010" belt to sheeve clearance for the 3211080 belts. If you clutch and weights are stock and you have wide belt to sheeve clearance for the 3211080 a XS may fit without reshimming.

I had to get a Ultimax 3 in March 2005 because 3211080's were back ordered and it lasted about as long a 3211080 before it went. I mailed it in with the $6.00 and they sent a new one. No problem. I did put on the card that I ran it in my XC 600, just in case, since the 900 is a known belt eater.

So it seems to me that this post means nothing to alot of people, for the the simple fact that no one has solved the clutch problem with this sled. 1 SLP torque Arm kit does nothing. 2 Polaris Engine mount kit does...nothing. 3 Polaris 111 belt does nothing.
Please don't get me wrong I am not bashing this sled.. I happen to like it alot. I do own one by the way. I just find it impossible that Ski doo and now Cat with the new z1000 can pump out 170+ hp with less belt problems than us.
