I did a lot of searching but didn't really find much on the front suspension swap. I firgured it would be smart to do to keep the handling right by keeping the sled level.

Has anyone done the front into an older early 90's sled, and if so, what were your experiences? Did it bolt right up or were modifications necessary?

thanks.

what sled? I did a 91 years back by buying longer tie rods and lengthing my radious rods and installing longer shocks. best bet is find an x10 non crc donor sled and get the entire works like from a 97 indy 500.

It is a 92 440. Isn't a 97 500 a evolved chassis though, will that work? Doesn't it have to be form a wedge sled?

The reason i am asking this though is that I have read that some have tried the x10 swap and there are issues like tierods hitting the bulkhead because of the longer travel.

thanks.

The front suspension is made the same even though it is evolved. I don't remember if I had to mod anthing for clearance or not but it clearly wasn't a big enough issue to stand out in my mind. When ever I do this type of thing I run the suspension through the entire range of motion with no shocks to make sure there is no interference. Bfrad's ac performnce was puttng 44 inch wide front ends on these in the early 90's so you shouldn't have trouble.

I've got the complete front suspension off a 96 xcr600sp...if you're interested....

That front suspension was called an IFS Xtra, not an Xtra-10.

A year later, the rack setup, with different spindles with some trailing ski mount built in, and new shocks was used on the 'CRC Xtra-10' IFS.

I own one of those first year triple triples.
