So the other day I went to staples looking for school supplies while i was their i figured i would pick up a new memory card for my computer. I decided on a 2 gig card, but i got home and it turned out to be an SD card when i need an XD. SO i was checking out my camera figuring on whether i need 2 gigs or not. my 128mb card holds 21 photos on the highest setting and 2 minutes of video footage. I figured if i want a decent amount of pictures and video together i would need to get a 2 gig, but the 1 gig is half the price. THink I could get away with the 1 gig?

1 Gig will be more than enough. I only use 512 in mine.

I have a 6 megapixel camera, but it has some fancy setting that uses twice the memory as the 6 megapixel mode, I also want some decent length video clips on it. I go on camping trips, were i can be away from my computer for a few days, maybe even a week, also on vacations without my computer. I don't wan tto run out of space in a couple days. I am thinking the 2 gig is worth it.

I got a 4Gig High Speed SD card for around $85 delivered. At highest resolution on my 6MB camera i can shoot 1100 pictures. In memory cards Bigger Is Better.
Spend the extra, you won't regret it.

My theory is this - the larger memory card I have in my camera the less often I sort and work with pictures. This gets me in a bad habbit of procrastination, thus I have a 1Gig card and try to keep pics sorted and up to date on my HDDs.

SO I returned to 2 gig sd card to staples and i lok for their xd cards, their xd cards are all Type m? what does this mean and will it work on my camera? I also couldn't find one over a gig. SO i think i have settled on a gig.

But will a type m xd card work? I looked through the specs on this site, and all it says is XD. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/E550/E55DAT.HT

I have a 9mp fuji and a 1gb card will hold 228 pics at the highest setting.

I have 2 cards and usually use 1 for movies and 1 for pics as i just find it easier for me personally.

This link will explain the dif between the card types. http://www.answers.com/topic/xd-picture-card

I have an Olympus camera with a m512 XD card and will not work in my 2004 Lexmark printer w/ card reader. I was told to buy card without "m" designation if I want card to work in that card reader. New technology?????WHF!
