Anyone install memory into a lap top before? I looked at the directions online and it looks like a real bi$#ch. My computer decided to take a crap on me, and I belive its because it only have 256mb ram. I looked it up (dell latitude 600c) and it looks like I can increase it to 512mb, but I am unsure I trust myself to do it. I have not looked into local shops doing it, but I am attempting to make this as "cost effective" as possible. The memory I believe is $100 so if the install isn't too bad I will be ok (as long as it cures the problem). If the install becomes pricey...well hell new desktops are only $500-600, it might not be worth it.

For those interested this is some info on the computer (FYI it's 6years old)

Everything seems to run fine, but as soon as you make the thing work (open large websites, have multiple programs open, etc.) it shuts down; turns to a blue default screen that says insufficient physical memory, then reboots.

I have gone through the thing and removed a TON of stuff, pictures, old docs from college, programs, etc. and it still does it. I have ran every virus scan, ran a Hijack this, etc. doesn't appear to be a virus.

If anyone would be willing to look at it, and/or install some new memory I am willing to compensate.

Let me know.

Thanks.
