Was looking at a couple of snoscoots in the paper and had a couple of questions.
What is a safe min. weight for a kid riding one of these
Are parts easy to find for them
How fast do they go...Is there a throttle limiter on them
Thanks
Johnny

the best kids sled on the market, mine goes about 25 with me on it (180lbs) about 20 with my dad (245), no speed limter on the throttle, and parts are available, i have had mine since 91 and i have only needed to replace the clutch because a rear rubber grommet went and its not sold by itself. the best for any kid hands down

Buddy has 1 and my daughter 7 and son 3 both rode it and did well. You have to have the snow knocked down for them to run good.

Is that $750 each or $750 for both of them? I only ask because they usually go for AT LEAST $1000-$1400 (and thats on Ebay).
There was a SnoScott for sale about a mile from my house last winter. The seatcover was mostly duct tape and the plastic was pretty faded. I offered the guy $500 for it and he acted like I insulted him.
Even to this day, SnoScoots pull a premium. Id love to have one, but they arent worth that much to me.

My friend has one he traded his kitty cat for it when he retired from racin and the thing is fuckin awesome it does 25-30 mph w/ one of us on it 110-160 lbs. definatly something to buy no matter how old u r

Wow. Lots of opinions. I have had Scoots and Sports (the 125cc version) for the past 10 years. We use to used them to haul our race sleds out on to the track (ice ovals). After that, I started buying and selling them.
They are without a doubt the best kids sled I have seen (I am a Cat dealer). I still ride one with my kids (I am 6'2" and 230 lbs.) Hauls me just fine. A blast to take on the local trails. You get some strange looks. They go through powder (not 3') just fine. My son moved up from a 120 to a Scoot when he was 4. He went to a Sport when he was 6 and to a Freestyle at 7. Great way to teach the kids to ride IMO.

Sorry for dragging up an old(er) thread, but thought I'd add my $.02.

My parents bought me a Sno Scoot for Christmas when I was 7, turning 8 (birthday in January). I had NO problems riding that machine, and I was just an "average" scrawny little ~8-year-old! grin.png I had the Sno Scoot 'til I was 13, at which point I had really out-grown it (not to say I physically couldn't ride it, it just became too slow for my riding capabilities).

If I could ever find another one for a decent price, I'd probably get it just for sh!ts and giggles! lol.gif

I also had a friend who was 1 year younger than me who got one at the exact same time I did.

Huh, huh, it was riding the Sno Scoot that I learned to "drift"!!! grin.png
