Had a person stop buy my bud's place (the one that had the trailer & (4) sleds stolen in post below) and inform him that there's a potential/known sled thief living within (2) miles from his house. The supposed thief (Walt?) has property in/near Atlanta, Michigan, and the house/barn is all setup with ramps for driving the sleds up into for tear-down.
The person that provided the info didn't want any reward money, and didn't want to get involved any further, but thought my buddy should know/be aware.
Anybody heard anything about this? Feel free to PM if you'd prefer...all info will be kept confidential.
We're all thinking of going camping near Atlanta this weekend.

Um, if anybody knows of this place the last thing they are going to do is tell someone about it.

He should find out from this informant where it is, where he found out about it or just kick his ass for being a accomplice.

The informat stated that he had actually been at the place in Atlanta once a "long" time ago, and that his brother was/is involved with the thief bastard in the trailer thefts and tear-downs.
The informant stopped in because he said it sounded like this guy's typical M.O., ripping trailers right from people's driveways.

This may seem like a dumb question-but I am serious- How do these punks start the sled without a key??? If they can start without a key, what should I do to safeguard my sled? Any help is appreciated.

most sleds you can jsut unplug the ignitions and go. to safegaurd youre sled try making a switch so when you leave the sled and they disconnect the key they can start it. you can also chain it to somthing or chain to sleds together. always park in well lighted areas and as close to the windows as possible

I know a lot of people in the Gaylord/Vanderbuilt area. I also use to live up there for a while. I never heard of anything like that. dunno.gif I dont know that someone could run a operation like that and not get caught expecally if he never moves the operation, ya know? Sounds kinda fishy to me. I will keep my ears open though. Its just sad caught if someone wants your sled bad enough they will take it no matter what. Usally I always like to sit in a bar or whatever by the window where I can see my sled. I do the same thing with my car. I try to keep it in constant vision. Doesnt always happen like that though. Hidden kill switch works pretty well though, usally thats enough to make them move on to the next one. Watch out up in that area. Expecally the Swamp Bar II in Fredric. There are usally lots of sleds out front so it makes an easy target.

New Flash for Sniper:
Until 2001 or 2002 one key fit all AC's. Your '96 can be started by anyone possessing a 2000 or older AC key. Best find other security measures if you feel vulnerable.
