Well personally I have heard no, zip, zero, nadda, squat, advertising for this event, but it involves sleds  , so should be good dunno.gif . Sounds a lot like the old "summer snosquall" they used to have way back when. Think I'll be going :div20: , anybody else?

Barrie Sled Races 'n' show...
diesel04
ye i'll b going, buddy might b racing his snoX 600mod. should be a goodtime :burp:
vooodooo

blue_by_you

I will definatly be there, should be a really cool event. If things come together I might get to put a few laps in out there.
Tinker
Hhhmmmaybe. That's prime firewood and cottage prep season though.

:beerchug:

Yeah its prime time for cottage prep and log splitting, but you should be long done that by now tinker. You dont have to worry, my cottage is ready to go, and the woodshed is fully stocked ready to be used.
We finally got through the truck load of logs we got in last year.
All I got to do is put up the stakes to let the plough guy know where to put the snow and I am good to go.
Maybe this year you will make it up with me.

Is that what you guys are workin on for Saturday Rick?

Brian called me, but I can't make it Saturday. I gotta cover a shift tonight at work so i won't be home until 6am or so, then a couple hours of sack time, and then we are heading up to my buddies place in Orillia and staying there, and over to Barrie on Sunday for the show.

Wish i could go, I enjoy getting out there and givin a little bit back. Told Brian to give me a call for next time though as I will do my best to be there for the rest of the trail work season.

Whats going on with the trail warden training? Not sure if I will be able to do it this year or not with the wife expecting in March. Depends on what kind of commitment they are looking for.

Ya thats what were doing tomorrow, looks like were ok for hands ... 14 coming out :div20:

Brian and Terry will be handling the trail patrol stuff, you'll have to chat with them about it.

Haydays north my a$$.

Sorry to say, went and it sucked. Think more advertising might of helped. Talked to a few vendors (there were only a few) and they said there was 0 PR for it. End rant.
Got to sit on new Phazer , Apex and check out Switchback close up

Oh well ,,,beat workin.
canadianfcat
Don't forget you got to freeze your ass off too.

The phazer looked pretty ridiculous but that apex next to it was sweet.
ephnright
Wasnt cold, waitin for snow since april.

I Dont mind the Phazer in person but 80 HP wont cut it, luv to try it out.. Liked the switchback too at the POL booth, much better than in pix. Thats a loooong sled tho.

:beerchug: >>coffee.
canadianfcat
Well at least the fries at the chip wagon were good!!

Did you see that Cat roll over on that girls head during the race.

That little kid on that 50 quad was hilarious.

I went to the races today (Sunday). But not before waiting in the Royal Distributing parking lot until they opened at 10am grinning-smiley-023.gif And I wasn't the only one :div20: .

Got to the sled show around 10:30. Paid $10 to get in. Not too bad for an afternoon I thought. I must have been one of the first ones through the gate. Walked the vendors in less than 20 minutes. 5 of those minutes were spent watching the dock dogs competition. The one girl couldn't even get her dog to jump. Not very impressed. Just seemed kinda blah.

Racing didn't start until Noon or so. I stood around until then as I had no idea when anything was going on. As far as I knew, there were no programs for the event. I wasn't even aware that the sled racing was put on by the CSRA until I got there.

Rained on and off from halfway through the 2nd motos until the end of the races. 1st and 2nd motos were most exciting. Sleds anyways. Quads were kinda neat but I still can't get used to that 4 stroke sound. I ride a Banshee and my riding buddies all have 2 stroke MX bikes. Just my opinion. There was one kid running in the Open Mini Quad class that just cleaned up every moto. They kept announcing that his bike was "box stock" yet it was definetly quite a bit more peppy than the others. Not to mention it smelled like race fuel when ever it went past :frech32: .

Do I want my money back? No. I understand that many people had to work together to organize the whole thing and build the track and whatnot. I was just expecting more.

On a side note, they should change the event name if they hold it again next year. When I think "Haydays" I envision swap meet, grass drags and world-class race teams. Also the unveiling of the new factory iron. This show does not do the title "Haydays" justice.
MUSKOKA800
Passed by there southbound on the 400 around 4:40 p.m. and never even noticed any commotion. Perhaps that's what was causing all the congestion? Bloody rubberneckers!!!
FreezerBurnt
was there any snow dunno.gif

I wanted to go to the Puddle Jump in Shactier but it was cancelled again due to fucking insurance smashpc.gif
Twiggy
I'm almost positive the action was pretty much wrapped up by 4:30pm.

I was also looking forward to the water skips in Mactier. The cancellation was the deciding factor in going to the one in Barrie
04rev500ss
I too was at Haydays North. and no it wasnt alot, but for the $10 it was worth the price. I got a bunch of pics and some video that I will try to get on here soon.
All in all not a bad way to spend a sunday, and if anything it got me more ready for the sledding season.
Next will be Toronto Snowmobile show, then sled prep day at the club, then trail work, and before you know it, it will be snowing, and we will all be riding.

^^^ That was a good wreck! They both came out off the corner on the power, all tangled up and took out the Race Director's chair :P

I went on Saturday, and it wasn't the greatest but it was something to do, and it got me stoked for riding

^^That was good, then they started chirpin at each other, Reimer was none too happy.

All in all it wasn't a bad time. Like everyone else I was expecting more to be there. Again like I said in the beginning of the thread, where the hell was the advertising for this?? The water cross/jump was very cool. Those guys were clearin 60+ feet into that water. Definately can't complain, got to see some sleds, sit on some sleds, and it just makes the season that much closer to startin.
canadianfcat
Was there more racers on sunday then saturday?

Cuz i don't think Reimer was there on Saturday...but the kid from OTSFF that crashed last year at horseshoe was cleaning up.

Can anyone tell me why OTSFF guys were riding Cats but their web site shows all doos?
REVTECHss
Sorry, my bad on the spelling, after some investigation, I think it was Peter RAYMER. It definately wasn't Earl Reimer, would have been cool if it was though !! Either way he was pissed at the guy on the doo.
canadianfcat
Ok then thats the guy from Saturday Rayner or something like that.

Saturday was his first time racing since his crash and he was cleaning up.

then again might just be average against better riders
Blackrevcaker
I was there saturday,I took my prego wife there! it was fun and only 10 bux. Any oppurtunity to get out, breath in some race gas, see machines whether quads or sleds, its all good, had a good time. Some of the racing was better then other, but I liked the kid quad racing, maybe because my wife is due any day now, but I thought it was great to see the little girl flying around the track..we dont know what we are having, but they will be involved in racing.
canadianfcat
Hey were you there with another guy too..?

If your wife had a pink sweater and a vest that wouldn't close...she's due soon!!

I saw you in the park and i was leaving in the jeep as you guys were walking over to your car.

My buddy and i both have two kids so we notice things like that.

Best of luck when the new one comes!! :div20:
Blackrevcaker
yup that was my wife, no chance getting that vest closed now. She is due on the 11th, but the baby is locked and loaded, ready to go!! Too many people complain about these events, man its motors and racing, who cares, I enjoyed it, Id say my biggest disappointment of the day was that the street meat place didnt have fried onions and they had a sign that said they did. but I got over it!!

By the way, I noticed your jeep too, because I have a jacked up TJ.
canadianfcat
Ya for $10 you got to see some racing a get some decent deals on stuff.

I came home with a wsa hat, scott turbo goggles and red ski hoops and paid $65 total...thats ok.

I've got a Jeep grand with 5.9 that was my buddy's Tj we where in.i found him a deal on it from a girl i work with that just needed to unload it.
it's a 1997 thats never seen winter 130,000 km. certified and etest $3500.he just got on Friday.

needless to say he was trying to pay for everything all day long!
blue_by_you
that was me that was with BRC, and the prego, I saw you aswell, and I also notice Jeeps, as my girlfriend also has a built Jeep TJ on 33's

Kevo :beerchug:
