i bought my first ski-doo i owned all polaris before and now i want to bring it to a ski-doo dealership since it's still under warranty to be pre-seasoned check. Last year i had just a local sled shop tune it up, SO where is the best place in VT that everyone brings their sleds to be worked on?

I guess that depends on where you bought it.......

Being from Barre, you dont have many options (close by anyway) S&S is Morrisville,Lucky's in Bethel,or Land Air in Essex. Honestly, the only place I"d bring it would be to land air, they have reputible mechanics and been in the Ski-doo business for quite a while. S&S in morrisville, well, the guy likes to blow alot of smoke up your...,and if you dont have a standing history with them, youre last on the list no matter what. Not to mention its an hour away. Lucky's is getting better, but still way to "new" to snowmobiles, they dont have any reputible mechanics there(they had one good one,but he left) (the others are very "new" as in ,not alot of expierience)....So that leaves Land Air,they seem to have some knowledgible mechanics there, and they know the business (when you go ask for a part, you dont have to explain to them what, and where on the machine it is.....)

My advice to you is ,either take it to where you bought it (if you bought it from a dealer)(or wherever the previous owner got it) or go around and talk to some of these guys, see what they know, see how they treat you as a customer, and go with whomever you're comfortable with. Its always a crap shoot with dealers and mechanics......

I dont trust anyone but myself to work on my sled, but alot of people dont have that option.

yeah i bought mine from luckys and that was the same thing i thought they were to new into and everyone i asked about their sled service said their ok.. so it's just as easy to bring it to land air and like you said I've always heard good things about their service
thanks

100% accurate info right here!!!! Go 2 Land Air! Good service and quick parts turnaround.

Unless you get under the counter for unappropriate u know what S&S isn't worth a shit.. I stop in there on the way to camp sometimes when I forget to pick something up at LA and man I just try to get in and out as quick as possible.. If you know anything at all don't even talk to the guy because he'll leave a sour taste in your mouth.. he always knows more than you do and really he doesn't know shit. I also know one of his x mechanics of 5+yrs and man he hates that guy. I know almost all the mechanics at LA and everyone likes working there.

and Lucky's 2 new and doesn't have any experienced mechanics.

I know it is a haul from the central vt area, but Walts in Newport is by far the best that I have dealt with. Good guys and they sure know their stuff.

This is true, if I lived in Barre, I would still make the drive to Walts. Family owned and operated, they are an awesome dealership. :div20:

With out a doubt Walts is awesome. S&S your lucky if you can get out of there in a couple of hours just purchasing oil. Bought 2 Revs from him and he said they would be ready on Tuesday. I could not make it up till Wed and he said he was ready Tues but now he wasn't .. go figure had to leave the 4 place trailer and get them on Thursday f@#$%^up.. My last buy from him.

I was in the market for a used sled last year and drove to Walt's all the way from Maine. I did not buy the sled directly from them but one of their customers. The shop went over the sled for me and then they gave me the discount on excessories like I was buying a new sled from them. I will travel back to see them when in the area and or looking for another sled. These guys are first rate.

I have used Bixby's in Woodsville for years, the owner has sold it to his son-in-law but the service is still excellent.
