Is anyone else having problems? I sent my Pro-xr crank off and had a bad pin bearing, Sent my son's 2002 Edge X off and his PTO end was bad. Also sent a friend's 2003 RMK crank off and his PTO end was bad - The kicker is that Polaris does not sell the PTO end you must buy the entire crank! (900.00 dollars) To make it worse, they are backordered until November. What are others seeing?

why dont u go with the slp big pto bearing, this solves the problem of the big block torque on the pto bearing

I think he's saying the PTO end is junk, not just the bearing, too late now for a double wide bearing.

Correct XCR1250- the PTO is bad. The area where the PTO rod pin is inserted into the PTO portion of the crank has too much clearance to continue to hold the rod pin tight. One sled has 1300 miles on it, the other 2600 - not enough to justify these kinds of repairs. This would not be so bad if Polaris would sell the PTO end of the crank. I was getting these sleds ready by sending the cranks to SLP for thir tough boy kits when they found the problem

You should be able to send your crank into someone to get it pulled apart and a new PTO end pressed on. There are quite a few people that do that.

That would be true if Polaris or someone made the pto end, they don't, you must buy the whole crank.

There are salvage places that will take used parts and make a crank for you. If you have a used crank, I suggest sending it to them and they can mate it up with a part that isn't warn out for a reasonable price.

Because of how "popular" the problem is, good PTO ends are in short supply (even used ones). The fellow I spoke to at Northern Crankshaft told me "the rumor mill" said Polaris was considering building a run of 800 PTO ends, but no confirmation yet.

Name and phone number please, as a repair shop I have looked for pto ends since 2001, I have found none used.

This is really a issue to me- I don't mind repairing my crank - I run these sleds hard. What bothers me is Polaris not building all the parts to rebuild the crank and then forcing me to buy a new crank and having them backordered for two months. An we are coming off of the summer. If this sled were to loose a crank in January and I had to wait two months for a crank my season would be gone and I would be visiting a Ski-doo dealer.
