Did the track lock up? Maybe the gears/track locked up and snapped the shaft. You may have a few more issues. Wow....

He's got a good point, you should be checking your chaincase and suspension carefully after a hit like that, also
maybe check the crank to see if it's damaged after being unloaded like that.

I'd make sure your not up against more repairs than you want to do to it,if the motor's damaged also it may not be worth fixing.

As far as the shaft and secondary how does $50 plus shipping sound, although I do need to make a run to Millinocket soon, maybe could meet off 95 somewhere.

it was makings a grinding noise before it broke when it was moving only i think the secondary was rubbing against something? and before this boke we did have to tighten the secondary down because the bolt was almost out and the clutch almost fell off
1996XLT
i bet you broke your chain. If it was grinding you could have broke a plate in the chain? then put some stress on it and your chain breaks and gets jammed up. with your motor pulling 6000 rpm's. That would rip a secondary off

the 91 440 sport runs a P90 Primary Clutch.. and are discontinued thru Polaris I have a P90 for $100.00 shipped you may need to change springs and weights
racerdave
Is the rust from sitting since it happened, or was the rust there as soon as you seen the break? That is also a P-90 secondary. It has a splined helix. Normal P-85 will fit the motor and jackshaft. The primary will just need the correct taper, then you can run the normal 042 poo belt. You may have been running that belt if the clutches were shimmed for that.

I WOULD SAY SITTING
