I can't imagine the need for that trail. That area is all land locked with private property. It is very conjested and the low snow levels in the area now make it useless. For the few weeks that some snow if any flies in this area does not seem very feasable to maintain a trail. Beside there are plenty of ways to get to the bridge without that trail. That is if there is any snow to ride on.

That part of the state is useless for snowmobiling anymore. Heck that goes for most of the LP.

I gotta disagreee with Alleycat. This trail will give sledders in the Gaylord - Indian River area many more options without having to back track. There is currently no decent route north of Indian River. With the last link from Indian River being approved (assuming the trail side property owners don't start a law suit), you can now keep on riding to Cheb and west to Mackinaw and then back south via another rail trail or you can head east out of Cheboygan towards Black Mountain/Hawks, etc and then around to Gaylord. This trail will round out the trail system in the Tip of the Mitt and give high mileage trail guys some good circle routes. Should make Indian River more of a sledding hub. As for snow, it's not like north of M-28 but the snow here is good enough for at least 10 weeks of riding most years. On second thought, AlleyCat is right. There is no snow here and the trails are never groomed. Better keep on goin north.....
