All the machs will have a few more ponies this year with the new programming.
All 05,06,and 07 will have the same program installed.

Y should we hope so????

Last time I checked the Mach Z was still the fastest production sled made to date. I keep hearing the cat guys talking about some F1000 or what ever they want to call that new rattle trap and saying how it is the fastest thing out. to date I haven't heard of any one actually having one in their possesion yet. Oh..wait I forgot...I guess D&D got one to modify because the engineirs at Cat couldn't figuer out how to get it to beat a Mach Z yet either. :beerchug: BRP will be putting the new program into all the 05-07 Mach Z's from what I have been hearing from my dealership. 170-175hp sounds nice to me. But we already have the fastest sleds on the snow so a couple more ponies will just be for fun! :beerchug:

No body said they were not the fastest sled on the market today but the programing they have had on the 05,06 were not the best it could have been. For more than 10 grand and less than 3 months to ride. There are a lot of unhappy machz owners that were stuck with a product that should have had a little more R@D done to it.I my self AM hoping they got it right the third time around.IT STILL IS THE BIG DOG and it looks SWEET.

My 05 has run flawlessly since I have had it. Always runs strong.
Sure it has gone into rich mode but a couple of times and it should to save the motor. You drive it like you should and it runs awesome.

What happened at haydays? did any one even try to run a mach, or where they too afraid? D&D took 1 and 2 with the F1000, and set a new stock class record.

That's what I'm wondering too, I couldn't make it to Haydays this year but I didn't see one Mach-Z there last year either.
On the "new" 170-175 hp figure.....I haven't seen a dyno run less than 170 hp on a 05' or 06' from Dyno-tech or anywhere else, DOO claims 165 but they all come in 170-174 hp.

So maybe the "actual" will be 180 now ??

Anderson and Breton both had Mach z's at haydays, last year - did not make the finals.

That programing change is for sleds sold off the dealers floor, Factory backed racers get high HP programs, with advanced timing and lean fueling. Like the one they tried to use for the shootout last year (till they got caught)

[/quoteand this is the programing that ski-doo is useing in the 2007 mach z which might put the mach in the 180 hp range. :beerchug:

As much as I think it is the toughest looking and fastest sled on the snow, I am shocked that they could not get the fuel map on those correct. You would think the R&D testing and a few dyno runs and they would be close. They must have thrown this thing together and thought they would be close and found out elsewise from owners. I just bought a new Apex and wanted to buy the new Mach, but just could'nt bring myself to do it for the money and most of all the quirky problems they still cannot manage to fix.

How come, not enough power from the Apex? Handling?

it ran good but the mach handled better and had more trail speed then the apex. i found the apex was a lot harder on my back and knees plus it still has it problems . the machzx1000 it just a better sled. apex is good but it not a match for the ride or power that you get from a mach z. :beerchug:

I wish I could have demo'd both. I hope I made the right decision... The one thing that really kills me even more than it used to is that we don't get the chance to hardly ever test drive sleds. And now that they are over $10,000, I said I would not buy until I did. Well, that didn't happen so I'll have to live with it. I did read magazine and online reviews and the Mach got good marks for power and flat cornering, but not so good for suspension travel and reliability. Maybe we'll run into each other some time on the trails in Quebec and we can swap sleds for a day

I sold my Mach Z to buy an F1000 this year. The Mach Z was the first sled I've owned in 20 years that blew up, twice! Not to say that it wasn't totally my fault but I've added aftermarket exhaust to most of the sleds I've owned and never had a failure. I was also bored with the racing part of it. Being the only 1000 out there wasn't challenging enough. I've owned a new Firecat every year since 2003 and I must admit that those sleds were the most competetive sleds ever cc for cc! If the F1000 performs like the Firecat did then the Mach Z will be in trouble. I'm excited to find out the who's who on the lake.

The f1000 will be a competitve sled but I don't think you are going to see it being a over achiever like the f7 was .
The f1000 is heavy and has a 15" track,if the f-7 had a 15"er on it that alone would leveled alot of the field.
Snow is still a while away, and there's lots of bench racing to do before then.

Did you happen to see those Canadiens at the snodeo in March with those Yamaha's. If they would have ran those sleds they WOULD have been the KING of the ice that day. Holy shit. Supercharged!
