So my sled, a zr 600 cce decided it doesnt want to start today. Honestly I havent done anything to summerize the sled, and Im sure I will get flamed for it, but so be it. Never before had I had a problem with starting my sleds during the cooler evenings in the summer every 2 weeks just to keep them alive until now. Last week the sled started up, ran, idled, revved, spun the track and everything on the second pull. I go to try it again today and I get nothing. It still has good spark but has anybody else had this problem? I wonder if a mouse got to some wiring or something, but if you have any advice it would be appreciated. Thanks alot!

fixed it up, just a mouse nest in the airbox.

these mice get everywhere, its unreal. Hey Ive got a question for you fellow zr riders....how can I tell if my airbox has been gutted? There is no foam filter that i can see after taking the little tool carrier/ecu box off and took the lid off. I will get a picture for you guys tomorrow maybe. Thanks

my airbox is gutted take the tray off and there is nothing in there

I do not have #11 therefore its a gutted airbox

Watch out for the mouse nest. My sled is stored inside a covered trailor with the cover on it parked inside a barn and the Mice got in it two years in a row now. They love the air box. There is no foam or screen to keep them out on ZR's. This year before I even started it, I opened the air box had a look around. I discovered a cup full of acorns laying in the bottom. Pretty lucky for not being all that lucky, I guess.
Another thing is the electric fuel pumps don't like to be stored on a half a tank of fuel. The bearings tend to dry out and become stodgy especially when the sleds get older. This happened to me on my sled this year.
I asked a friend of mine who is an engineer that works at a company that makes elecric fuel pumps told me that the best thing you can do for it is store it with a full tank of gas with Stabil in it. He also said that if you can somehow get it unstuck and running again, it will probably run for ever.
The fuel pump has a very low resistance something like 1.2 ohms.
The EFI pump is 12 v dc and you can un plug it and possibly get it going with it with a car battery. Red wire is positive and black is negative. Just make sure you don't make a spark in the presence of gasoline vapor or you might burn your house down. It is safest to leave the pump assembly inside the tank clamped down tight. Maybe you should leave that up to a pro to work on it if you don't understand what is going on there.
