I have a 2001 RMK 800. First of all I do not like the way the ass end of the sled looks so I want to take the rear heat exchanger off adn all the plastic stuff, possibly make my own tunnel extension that looks better. Second of all I am running my sled in the summer a lot and would like a little more cooling for the engine. Has anyone here put heat exchangers under the tunnel, tied them into the running boards at the rear of the sled and thrown out the far back heat exchanger? It looks like it would work really good adn give me more cooling. Let me know what you guys think and if you see any real big problems with that. The only real problem I see with it is it will be a PITA to get all of the air out of the coolant lines, but I think I could do it.

Can probably stick an edge rmk rear crossover cooler on there with a different extension and make it work and look how you want it to. Or sell that and upgrade to an '02 w/VES and a better overall package.

I did it with 3 121" edge coolers. You have to cut the back ends off and then use the 3rd cooler to make them 7" or so longer. the rear tube is then welded on at 90 deg. so that lines up with the running board pipes. In the front, cut the 2 holes w/ a hole saw and use an edge rear crossover hose to connect them. You will have to press a bend in them so that they match the bend in the tunnel. Also after you weld all this up, pressure test them at 30 psi.I have pics from 2 yrs ago when I did it,Ill try to find them. In the winter it almost runs too cool, about 125-130,but my 910 needed all the help it could get. With stock cooling it ran 180-190,way too hot.
