I can get one for $260.99 and then 2 GB SD card for $90. but I just wanted to know opinions and all on this particular model... also there is A540 but it cost 50 bucks more and less megapixels rated for some reason.

Free 1GB SD Card under combo specials, while supplies last
Canon A620 Silver 7.1 MP Digital Camera 1/1.8" CCD 2.0" 115K LCD 4X Optical Zoom 4X Digital Zoom - Retail $260.99

Sandisk 2GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card
The new SanDisk Ultra II SD cards have a minimum sustained write speed of 9 megabytes (MB) per second and a read speed of 10MB per second. Get faster speed for all the things you do.

everything combined with shipping should be under $425.. but may be willing go as high as $500, since my last camera was well over $600. thanks in advance!

Get it, you won't be dissapointed in a Canon at all!!!!! We had a Kodak and were unimpressed but it was a cheaper model. Now We have a Canon A-80 and it has been awesome, ours was like $400 and is a 4 meg and to be honest I don't think the average user needs anything more, takes awesome pictures and is easy to use and has been very durable thus far :div20: . One nice feature ours has is it uses AA batteries, it is nice to be able to pop into a store and get some when you need them instead of having to recharge. Only part that pissed me off is a couple friends of ours bought a new Canon after we reccomended it to them about a year after we got ours and they paid about $100 less for a camera with more features and its a 5meg :banghead: , prices are dropping on digital cameras lately unless your looking at the Rebel or others like it, then your gunna pay. Now if plasma TV's would drop a few grand I'd be in business :div20:

got couple of questions about this A620.

I know it takes 4 AA's batteries, so what kind should I get for battery? I dont care if its $20 for 4 AA's as long as they work very well, etc.

and I was wondering if it takes video clips ? mine FD-92 only have 15 or 30 seconds recording options and very low resolutions options , either way I think A620 will be quite bit of an upgrade comparing to FD-92.

We bought Monster brand rechargeables and have been VERY happy thusfar, they last longer then any of the store bought AA's and the charger will work in the car or the house. They are spendier then most but have been great. Got them at Crutchfield.com .I don't know anything about your model camera particularly but I am sure it will take some video, ours will but it is very poor quality video, don't use that feature much. I would hope the newer models take better video then ours, we are unhappy with that portion of ours but it is the ONLY thing we are unimpressed with.

The 540 is a smaller camera and easier carried around in your pocket. Both take great pictures. Get some Energizer 2500 mah rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. The batteries are about $10 for 4 and they last a long time per charge in cameras and longer than alkaline batteries. I think they take about 300 charges before they go bad.

You will need NiMh rechargable batteries and a charger. DON'T get NiCads.

It will take some fairly decent video clips. If you plan on taking long clips make sure you have your memory card freshly formated before. A high speed card helps too. I have a A530 and it's clips are pretty decent as were the ones from my A75.

Go take a peak in the digital camera forum, there's some good info on the 620 in there. BTW I have the 610 and it has been great. :div20:

thanks for replies! also there is A700 ( just came out not too long ago ) but it seems that it has less megapixels and not as sturdy as it looks as A620 has, not sure why but either way, I dont know much about that particular model. but is this fast enough for video/pictures actions ? here the specs, or there are faster ones out there then this?
