Finally got to hook up with Armand ( Pathfinder58) yesterday. We took off from East inlet about 10 am and manageed to find a little snow a little mud and a little water. We turned it into a great last ride of the season ( last for me atleast)
Pic 1 is Armand feeding a grey jay pic 2 is Anby stuck on Beamon hill pic 3 is Andy crossing a stream off boundry pond pic 4 is Andy riding on boundry pond trail. (we ran out of snow about mile 11 on boundry pond and the last pic is my fleey being washed and put to bed for 6 months or so Had a great year considering its the 1st time I haven't ridden quebec since 97 and the lack of snow in many parts of Maine and NH I still managed 3860 miles.
racerdave
Riding in the middle of April, your a dog! Are you the same Denny, that made my RacerDave emblem several years ago?
pathfinder58
Nice pics, for some reason, none of the ones I took came out! :banghead:

That certainly was a nice ride for mid April. Hopefully next year we can hit it when it is not all snow cones, and we can get somewhere a little more extreme!

I saw dualmass heading out around noon today with his sled in the rain. The endless quest for antlers continues. Hope he did well, he really works at it!

Denny, why do you insist on putting up these pics? We all know they are photoshopped...LMFAO There was no snow this year!!!!
3680 miles, I am glad to say I did a shitload of those with you and had a hell of alot of fun doing it!!!! Just cant wait till next season!!!!

Well for me today was the last ride, the mud and moose crap was a fly'in but the rain was the real killer. Ran some trails from East Inlet. Pathfinder not that I needed to after it started pouring but how do you get to stub with out going 20 to 143? A few weeks back 20 & the start of 143 were shot.
We ran from 8:00 am till around 10:00 my son had a good time trying out the new Nytro. :div20:

I wish I could have gone along with you guys, I sure missed out. :banghead:
BUT I made plans with Dave to go shedding, we snowshoed until around 630pm.
The scenic overlook is great on day like that, the views are great,
did you notice there was no trash up there? I did a cleanup the day before when I was up there. :div20:
Funny thing it snowing right now,Pathfinder want to ride tomorow?
What time do you do dubes?

OH by the way I broke the 4000 mile mark yesterday, in the rain!!!!!!!!! :beerchug: ( my lowest year since 97)
I want to break the 200 mile mark on snowshoes next :tease:

How do you carry your snowshoes on your sled.

There is a way off 20 that allows you to get up on Stubb without being on any trail, and I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you! frech11.gif

Suggest we hook up next year and maybe I could blindfold for part of the way. :tease:

Usually back from breakfast about 8:00, and I think it would be super to go out again, (If I get my f*#in taxes done today) :banghead: :burp: with this light snow coming down we would have camoflaged mud, and if the temp goes down tonight it might even set up a little so we have a chance to stay on top a little more. dunno.gif

Did you find anything significant while out with Dave? dunno.gif Shoeing till 6:30, you must have been trashed. :tease: I know I'm just starting to get feeling back in the back of my cavs from 3-4 days ago! :lol2:

Phew I was hoping you wouldn't advertise the backdoor up Stubb lol Showing people 1st hand is one thing but giving directions on the internet is another

Also for racdrdave no I believe it was prolly Hden that made your handlebar emblem. I bet hes still getting some miles in quebec though
dualmass
My lower body is starting to feel "run-down", 6 days of snowshoeing in wet snow will do that (can't image how the moose do it).
The back door into stub should remain a secret (some secret)... there was a time when I felt like I was the only sled that traveled that route.
This february I took that route and got stuck behind 5 sleds! and they kept getting stuck... :banghead:
I know I sound like a dick, :frech32:
but like a said a few hundred posts ago the best part of off trail is finding these spots YOURSELF.
I think most who posts here would agree.

Oh yeah, I picked up three more antler :celebrating:
but none to great (hoping for a monster like pathfinder got the other day), dave didn't have any luck...I was hoping he did better,
my "karma" from those "raffled" antlers is paying off...
wolfie
Spectacular Denny. Man, northern NH had a good year, especially considering the rest of New England pretty much sucked. You are haad cooa for shua.... :div20:
03viperguy
thats awesome! and I am pretty jealous, I put the sled away shortly after the sno deo trau14.gif maybe next year I will meet up with some of you guys and do some nice riding! LOOOONG summer ahead after such a short winter
legend700
I finally packed it in and dropped the sleds off at Dasilvas on Sat, waited because i wanted an april ride but just couldn't commit to the 4 hours in the car for iffy conditions. last tide was 21st of March so not too bad.

I was showed the back way, but I couldn't get back there if I had to. Our shields were so iced up that day nobody knew where we were. even pathfinder, we had to back up a couple of times!!!
Bilbo
Great Pics, those conditions still look better than some of the stuff we rode this
winter. :banghead:

dualmass you are right and I like to explore as well but this time of year when you have mud & rocks it's nice to know the best way to get to the snow with out killing your sled :div20: I will have to wait till next year with good snow cover and I will find it. Hope it's more of a secret than Stub pond. By the end of the season the place looked like a three ring Circus & a Joey Chittwood show all rolled into one :smilielol:
