I just picked this sled yesterday afternoon and got some pics within minuits of it being out of the truck. its got 3800miles and the tunnles polished. ive been working on it and have the carbs pulled off right now cause it wont run, but it will fire and theres great spark. this sled is in very nice condition but has its rough spots. the seat is like brand new, all the plastic and gages are great. the piece of hood around the light needs repainted, its got some wierd ass ski widening custom job, twin pipes, foam air filters, and needs a windshield. i also got a parts cataloge with it for the wrong sled, its for invaders and intruder but it will work for most things and it will also work for owr deeres.
thats about all i know about the sled, does anybody else have any info on these sleds, production numbers, what 4/6 means, HP, where i can get the sweet metalic paint that changes colours.

widening job looks kinda similar to what bender did with the early (TSS) phazers short of being TSS, gotta help with stabilizing that thing though :div20:

watch for cracked exh side piston skirts, lemans corp sold tons of them over the yrs through DK(one of their many divisions), they had tendency to collapse and chunk off causing non-starts and/or blown engines

Eric. The engine originally had different cylinders with extra transfer ports. Unfortunetely your sled does not have them. Those are Invader/Liquifire cylinders on that sled. Sled looks nice though. I live down the road from you in Acton. Peter

could theis sled be an invader with the twin plug heads and an ltd hood or is it an ltd with the wrong cylynder.

the modle number is ss440-A3 on the tunnel.

You have a 4/6 with the wrong cylinders,no speedo cable.
That widening kind of baffles me it doesnt look modified in the pictures but its too wide for the pan,interceptor bulkhead maybe?

You also are missing the corner brace where the pipe would bolt too.

no its definatly a widening kit, mabee from a cut up interceptor???, but who would cut one up.

OK after seeing those pictures i can see better that it is just a homeade widening job.

those ski's look like ski-doo ,elan ski's or rv ski's

ya thats possible, i was wondering about that but its my first kawi so i dont know what its supposed to have on it.

I believe LTD windshields are big bucks if you can find them.

im going to try to make one and if that doesnt work i can buy one new, but im not sure how much it is.

i payed 500 and its not mint by any meen just very cleen. its got the sides cut out and the hood around the liht needs painted and other scraches but it is in real nice condition.

and i have no idea about the top end on this sled because the most ive done is rev it on a strack stand but i think it will be fun for sure, owr liquifire with near the same motor but slightly dewtuned from this one will do 70mph but i think its been geared down cause it should have more and it launches amazing.

There is a guy locally were I live that has a Interceptor that would show up at the local radar runs and wipe out any comp. The guy never ever touched the thing as for mods or any anal maintance. He stored it in spring and then pulled it out in fall.


It has been a few years since the local radar runs but if my memory is still working I believe he was seeing speeds around 111-112 on glare ice in 1/2 mile
