Full Version: An Idea That Worked!

Just came in from a club meeting at which we had election of officers and normal business to take care of. Part of that business was to draw a raffle winner of our Moose antlers that we had been selling chances on for $5. each or 5 for $20. We had never tried this to raise funds before but thought it was worth a try because it seems everyone who visits the area wants antlers.

Almost a year ago, while on line at Hardcore an idea materialized and was talked about, and the result was Dualmass donated a "bitchin" pair and antlers, and arranged to have them mounted for our raffle. At tonights meetings it was revealed that this raffle generated $1730. not quite erasing the national debt, still a respectable number for a first venture of that sort. There are few things a club can generate revenue without investing money to begin with (like our sled raffle), but through the generosity of a good club member (who probably wouldn't donate that amount in cash) agreed to donate something that is very difficult to find.

We want to make sure that Dualmass knows his gift was very much appreciated during a season when most clubs operating income was down, it really helped.

The antlers were won by Paul Gaulfier of Berlin Connecticut who we thank for taking a chance while supporting our club.

Here's a pic of Dualmass with his Dual Daughters, Thanks Chris!

Creativity is the Key. Great Job Dualmass. $1700 is a nice chunk of change. :div20: :div20:

Excellent!

We were thinking the old stand by...firewood...10 bucks for a shot at a 200 dollar cord of wood...

Nice Job Dual. :div20:

Raffles are great. I think he has a 200 year supply saved up too. :smilielol: frech11.gif

Thanks Chris!!! :div20: :div20: :div20:

It was a great idea to raffle off the rack, and a generous gesture on your part. I had a nice spot all picked out to hang those babies, so I was looking for an e-mail from OVR telling me to come on up and get them

$1730 is a nice profit for the club. Thanks also to everyone who bought tickets to support the Ridgerunners.

$1730.00 times 200 years is about $346,000.00. Not too shabby. Now that's impressive!

Great job Dualmass. Not many people are willing to part with their prized possessions. I don't know you personally but obviously you are a truly unselfish person. I wish there was more people like you out there for every club! luxhello.gif

That would be very attractive to the locals, but it'd be kinda pricey to UPS the wood to a winner somewhere like Connecticut or NJ :frech32: frech11.gif :frech32: frech11.gif

That's a nice chunk a change. :div20:

Excellent, excpet for me not winning. Great idea and very generous to donate them to the club. I think the firewood idea is a great one as well, nearly everyone up there has a stove at their camp. Might not get as much interest as the antlers but certainly would get more than the $200 it costs even if you couldn't get it donated.

I still can not believe that total amount that the antlers ended up getting.

I hope the winner enjoys them and I would like to thank everyone who put out their hard earned cash$$, you people are pretty damn cool... :div20:

Pathfinder was key in making the idea into reality, he deserves some credit. :beerchug:
It was great to feel the "love" from so many people, it is exactly why I drive 1000 mile round trip to come up here (I am lucky to have some real good friends up here)
The more you give the more you get, is the reason I gave them up.
I think my "karma" should be real good for a bit... :div20:

"dualdaughters"...my kids loved that pathfinder1
