i wasnt there but a buddy of mine was just talking about how they got a 95? i believe thats what it was, mxzx 440 going 147 mph in 2 miles, for gearing i think they ran something crazy like 30-38 and for the longest time all they did was blow belts so one of them came up with the bright idea of slowly laying on the throtlle until the one mile mark where they actually can grab her than she slowly picked up speed to 147 which was recorded at the 2 mile mark on bare ice

with some insane gearing you could probably get some good top speeds, I dont know though. Must take a while to get her up to any sort of speed though!

There was a 77 srx 440 held (and possibly still holds NSSR world record) 101mph in 1000'
77 arctic cat z 250 went 94.7mph in 1000'
Either way those old sleds were moving!!!

Dads exagerrating.
World record 440 only pulled 92 mph in 500 ft. on grass.
101 is a pretty good mph for 660' on ice though.
Fastest 440 I've seen was a MXZX 440 with a turbo 122 mph. 1500 ft. pull.
Stock '99 ZR440 111 mph.

I am pretty sure the nssr speed record on a 440 Open Mod ( Dart???)Rotax Sno Pro motor with a 13" speed track is no more than 125 mph . Thats with a 270 lb sled and the best Aero package available. So thats pretty much reality unless your going down a Ski jump. MMR
