Has anyone ever put older stock Cat twin pipes on newer sleds?

I'm putting a 93 wildcat 700 into a 2000 zr snopro chassis - motor is in but the pipes won't fit. I am wondering if the 95-96 style wildcat pipes will work or if the older 88-91 style pipes will fit. Anybody put older pipes on newer sled? or have opinions on what will fit?

why stay away from the twins?

this engine came stock with twins and zr1 stock pipes would be basically the same as the stock 93 pipes that have been run on it (and run great). what you said just doesnt make sense.

i hold a grudge against twin pipes --- and being a 14 year old motor i would play it safe and tame it down.... plus the pipes for that motor wont fit a zr chassis

Well thanks for the opinion, but I do not have a grudge against twins

and yes, pipes for 93 wildcat won't fit the zr chassis, thus trying to find if other styles will

I have D&D twins on my "old tech" motor...and guess what.....it flys with them....tc, as in my pm, get a set of D&D twins for the zr 700 99/2000 model....you will not be sorry...then pm me and I will get ya the setup for gearing and clutching!

This post makes sense to me. :beerchug:

I don't care if the engine is 30 years old, if it's fresh and tuned properly, it will run fine. My buddy's 76 Merc Twister with PSI twins with Stingers runs flawlessly at the vintage races week in & week out. :div20: He does ZERO to it between races.

The old ZR700 engine to the "new" wasn't much different. dunno.gif
