I was just wondering if the 2002 and 2001 mxz's come with an elctric shield plugin or if i would have to have the whole kit installed.

We have an '02MXZ and had to have the kit installed. $20 bucks, it was well worth it.

its so easy you can buy it and install it your self

My 2001 MXZ did not have one, but my 2000 F700DLX does. Mind you I never used it!
They are a simple install, the tough part will be wiring it. If you're not sure about wiring, have someone install it, or at least help you. Not much to it though.
