I rode mt ATV for about 120 miles today, great ride, but it gave me a chance to see the junk left behind by snowmobilers. Spring thaw really shows the stuff. It really adds up people. Man, when you blow a belt just take it with you.
What really surprises me are the number of beer cans at snowmobile intersections.

Yep and people wonder why we lose trials. How would they feel it that was left in THEIR front yard.

I must agree with all of you.
During several trips this year, we saw more beer cans and blown belts than we have in the past. We always make sure to bring back as many as we can. :div20:
If you take it out with you,why can't you bring it back with you? :banghead:
Show some consideration for others. It is a black eye for the sport and a sore spot for the folks that live up there and have to look at it and clean it up.
What's the old saying..."Do unto others..." :frech32:

I think a picture says it best :frech32:
I DESPISE littering...ANYWHERE! I have been known to flip more than one jackass off on the road when they throw crap out their car window. Com'on people Toronto sends enough garbage to Michigan everyday, can't you at least put it in a garbage can or a passing by Ontario Garbage Hauler

Oh yeah, the Ontario trash trucks get one too every monring on my way to work :bigfinger:

Most people are PIGS!
Not only trails but streets and roads sides. I see people empty ashtrays at stop signs and throw McDonald bags in the streets all the time.
You could do the same to their yard but they would'nt give it a care as they are blind to it.

This is the whole reason for trying to arrange a trail clean up with HCS'ers. This past season I blew a belt....let me rephrase...exploded a belt on some powerlines no where near a trail. I took the bag I had in my trunk and collected piece by piece being careful not to leave a mess and threw it in my trunk. Would anyone really have seen it in spring...probably not since it was pretty far off the beaten path. The point is...if it isn't natural to the enviroment take it out with you where every you are. If god didn't put it there to begin with why would you leave it there?
This kind of shit just PISSES me off, I can't understand how people can be so irresponsible and ignorant that they use the woods as their own personal dumpster.
If you haven't signed up for trail clean up please do so.
Sign Up Thread Stop complaining about it and be the bigger person and help clean up after the non-snowmobilers because that is what they really are. :cn:

Yup, hot water tanks and couches way out in the woods wasn't left by a troll
I usually have to take something to the dump every spring off my property near Interlochen. Last year it was a kitchen set :banghead: I want to know how they get that crap back in the woods in the winter. There are no paths for cars/truck to get where I pick this shit up. Has to be a sleigh behind a sled when they tresspass to go ics fishing.

i hear you! you'd think the "award" would look better around the guys handlebars or as a necklace. hanging on the trial it pisses people off, while taking it along for the ride might actually stir up a couple laughs... :tease:
you could take it along and be responsible and even make a poor situation into a humorous event...

Hey, I'm no Saint and admit that I have littered in the past. I blame it on young and stupid syndrome. I remember the commercials of the 70's with the Indian crying about the litter across the countryside. It took a long time for that message to get across to me, but at least it did. Something kicked me in the ass about 10-12 years ago and I no longer litter and I mean NOTHING! I decided to lead by example. If I take stuff out with me, the wrappers, bottles, etc go back in the saddlebags until I find a garbage can. I have also started picking up after others while on the trails in hopes that people will see the err of their ways and possibly change like I have.

I usually get in fights with the some of the guys I ride with about them leaving their crap on the trail. They've gotten better in the last few years but I'm sure they leave crap if I'm not riding with them. Last trip I exploded my chaincase and put all the pieces in a rag in my trunk and brought them home to dump. It's not like it's a big deal to carry it with you until you get to a place with a garbage can.
