The first part is true (0-80 it beats most), but I wouldn't say that it get beats by "most" after 80. It will definitely get beat on top end by any true lake racer, like an SRX700, MachZ, or T-Cat, but it should lose to them; they aren't even in the same class. I was suprised at how well it did against 600-700 twins with short tracks. I expected to get beat by my buddy's 121" Rev600 at top speed (due to the long track hurting my top speed), but I was still pulling away from him. Same thing with my buds' XC700 and MXZ670HO. I still haven't lined up against an MXZ700 or F7, but from past experience, I'm pretty sure they would gradually walk away from the C7 at top speed.
IchWarrior
a 1m 900 With a 144" track walked away from me at about 75...

Of course, there isn't a lake in sight where I ride, so we weren't in it very long, just enough to run up to 75 for a little bit.

when I stated what I did,I was basicaly talking in the 700 and up class, ya it will walk 600's, but mostly 700 and up will go by you at 80 mph. JT

Any guesses on how the 07 X-fire 1000 will do on the lakes?
roughrider
Cat geared the Crossfires a little lower (06 production run) with the idea that they wouldn't need to be regeared for higher altitudes. I would imagine 07's will be too. Not really meant to be a screaming "lake racer", but, with 1000 cc's....................?
Xfireman
If your racing across a lake with fresh powder....it will beat most. On the lake trails, I beat my buddies 06' Renegade 800, and when he switched to the Attak, Xfire would pull it to about 90, then the Attack would top end it by a few lengths.
