I was on it as late as wednesday and there is still plenty of ice, but its getting hairy getting on and off.

With the melt going on and the rain happening, the level of the lake is rising steadily, therefore making the edges unstable. Sometimes you can find an area where the ice is settling on a high point and a bridge happens, but other than that you would have to launch across five or ten feet of open water in places. Running the length of the lake would get you to Magalloway road which is toast. Best shot at a ride now is East Inlet and most of that would be off trail high elevation, still adequate snow but shrinking fast.
