I'm pretty sure this is the second highest elevation point in saskatchewan next to cyprus hills. It's called thunder mountain and is up near Weyakwin lake(north of p.a.). Usually snowmobile up there at least a couple times each year but only made it up there once this year. They have a huge fire watch tower there. Gets pretty windy on some days too.

Oh yeah, figure i might as well add this in here too. Just got a summer job up at elk ridge starting around may 1st to end of august. Not the greatest paying but it sounds like such a sweet job. Can't wait to start. Just hope I don't have to take any summer classes which would totally get rid of that job...that math 110 is a killer.

We usually ride up in that area a few times a year. We ride out of Moose Range Lodge.

lovethepowder, I have a friend that's one of the main cooks there. At least I think it's at Elk Ridge. His names Kevin.

Great pictures, never been up that way at all.

cool maybe i'll see him up there. Oh yeah, just got a call from Conexus Credit Union in P.A. for a summer job interview on wed. I hope I get this job now lol cause it pays alot better and I will be able to stay at the parents place and not pay rent so I can save alot more money. I already want to go snowmobiling again...usually it doesn't really kick in until mid to late summer....it's going to be a long summer.

thunder moutain is one my communities traditional territories, bout 20 mins from there beside towards mahigan lake is my trapline which offers excellent riding....great area and i ususally hunt there too....
lovethepowder
wow really? thats awesome. Do you ever go on the trails around weyakwin? There's a trappers cabin that is on the shore of the west side of weyakwin lake. There's a snowmobile trail that kinda goes right by it and then comes out at a gravel pit on the rocky lake road. I think it was last year when we met up with a trapper that was at that cabin and he came with us up to thunder mountain...pretty cool guy.

yep i know the guy, his name is brian hes got a 2003 moutntain cat, he is a bus driver from back home, yes he is a pretty kool guy....love that area in summer time very quiet...

Holy crap that's weird lol, that is the guy that came with us, i remember that mountain cat now and he did say he was a bus driver too when we stopped at the shack. Yeah I agree, it's so nice and quiet up there in the summer, it's awesome going out fishing in the boat at 6 in the morning on a perfectly calm day and just relaxing.

i usuall yhead out to dog lake for some trout fivhing or if hunting moose, i like to head out to one of those many lakes and just paddle, nothing like being on a lake early in the morning, no phone ringing,tv blaring, cars or trucks with sound systems ot exhaust systems.....even tho i like em, gotta take a break....i also head out to whiteswan lake and camp out there....
lovethepowder
We always go fishing for trout at Dog lake. Well, try to get there about 5 times a year. That's a deep lake...gets down to like 80+ feet I think. Never been to any of those other little lakes around there(sedge lake, etc). Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we've both been there at the same time lol.

Do you know if Cheeyas has any fish in it?? I know that it's like 100+ feet deep but have never heard if there are any fish in it. There a couple streams/rivers flowing in/out of it so Im sure it could support fish living in it. How about the Wanner lakes, or any other ones in that general area that arent really accessible by road? :beerchug:
