I currently have the following track:
Polaris RMK track, p/n says 5411520 TRACK,136"X1.25,CAMO Substituted by 5411955. It was used on these sleds:
Year Model Name Model Number Assembly Name Part Number
1999 600 RMK 099SR6DS SUSPENSION - E99SS6DU 5411520
1999 600 RMK 099SR6DSA SUSPENSION - E99SS6DU 5411520
1999 700 SKS 099SS7AS SUSPENSION - E99SS7AU 5411520
2000 700 SKS S00SS7AS SUSPENSION - S00SS7AS 5411520
Does anyone know how this track performs compared to a new ripsaw or predator?
Just trying to decide if I should run this or upgrade?
Thanks
Click to view attachmentIn fall of 1998. I custom built a long track two up out of a new 99 XLT SP.
I installed the exact same track, wrapped it around a new 136" M10 with Fox shocks and studded it with 135 studs. They were Sno-Stuff 1.35 small (7/8") headed stainless steel with their self-threading plastic combination backer and nuts. I used SLP Ultra-Lites to give the front end flotation and steering.
I got nearly 20,000 miles on the track, it started to fail when outside studs began to pull thru or tear out. It had studs on every third panel on each outside band. I was VERY pleased with the on trail traction and it worked great off trail, both around Togwotee pass in Wyoming and in U.P. Michigan, Ontario and Minnesota.
It is a fully clipped track, and it is fairly heavy, but it was easy on hyfax once I put the Edge style hyfax on, (the old-style Ski-doo hyfax on the Fast built M10 filled up the windows too much).
