I need to know what octane fuel you use and if you would use higher octane for performance? If Yes what octane would it be?

I use 116.
Depends on your mods and compression ratio/timing, higher octane runs cooler and can cause some loss in performance and gas mileage.

XCR1250,
Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to figure what kind of performance gains everybody is going to get, based on what type of fuel they are willing to run. I have found 100LL AV to work the best with the FST.

Just back from a trip into the Michigan Keeweenaw from Lake Gogebic.

When the only open gas station in 50 miles has 92 octane that is what you use. For my riding, extended touring, saddlebag trips, I cannot be sure I could obtane more than 92 ocane. I could carry ocatane boost if I run into someplace that only has 87 or 89. I could also live with less boost or spark advance in those situations also.

On my trip to Canada this year i found myself at a point of being almost empty and by what seemed to be a miracle i found a "gaz" sign with an arrow. Needless to say when i got there they only had 1 pump and it was "ordinare" which i believe to be 87 octane. I filled it up and never really noticed a difference. I'm sure there might of been but in Canada you run so darn fast that within 4 hours i needed another tank. The bottom line is that i had no problem running the cheap stuff if that is all there is.

Running octane lower than 91 can cause some deto and the deto sensor will back off the timing. The engine will still run smooth, but will be down a little on power. I have noticed it a few times, and it is not much of a difference.
