Will be heading up to Hotel Universal in Riviere-du-Loup on Monday March 27th for a week of riding. Have toured the Gaspe Peninsula several times. However on this occasion I will be traveling with a new rider and planned to do day loops (200 mile) out and around Riviere-du-loup. Could someone please advise what the trail conditions are in this area. If necessary I can alter plans and go further East towards Matane or St. Anne-des-montes. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Spectre, we just got back this pm from a trip to quebec, beauceville thru cabano, amqui, pointe a croix, matane, rimouski, rdl, back to beauceville.
There is still adequate snow cover in rdl, but with the warm temps during the day near rdl, the fields are opening up fast., once you get back into the woods south of rdl you are going to be ok.
You may want to go further east to matane or amqui or consider finding rooms south of rdl near cabano. Better snow cover in the interior.
Also from Lac etchemin east to st pamphile and the relais 540 still have some snow but not sure how long they will be grooming?
Great spring riding in either case
