I was seriously considering going towards Togo, but I talked to a RELIABLE source and was advised there is ridable snow but severely deteriorated! Boondocking would be an option, but with the minimal snow left obstacles could REALLY raise hell with the machines!!! And I really do not want to drive that far north just to ride barstools !!!! I'd venture to say the fat whore mother nature has sung the final tune. The Keewanaw might be the last haven for sledders now!

So much for the "secret spot" eh, MXZRider? trau14.gif

I bet there is still rideable snow in the I-Falls, Voyagers Park area. Last weekend there was quite a bit of snow on the trails. If it gets 40ish temps, it won't be as icy either. Long ways for you guys to drive though!!

I know they are still grooming the trails between Upper Red Lake and Lake of the Woods. Check it out clicky

Can you run the Big Fork River yet?
IronRangeRider
the North Shore trail North is maybe ridable??

Groomed miles: 146 Conditions: poor to good
Trail groomed? yes Trail base: 1 to 6

Comments: (updated March 23)
The trail was groomed this week from the Laine Road south of Two Harbors to the Ski Hill Road in Cook County just south of Grand Marais. The southern section of trail from the Martin Road parking lot to the Laine Road is in poor condition and it hasn't been groomed since last week, there isn't enough snow on that section of trail. Bare spots are occurring on corners, hills, road crossings, and south facing exposures from the Laine Road up to the Silver Bay area. From Finland north to the Tomahawk Trail the trail is in fair condition with bare spots occurring. North of the Tomahawk Trail up to the Ski Hill Road in Cook County the trail is in good condition. Our expected last grooming run will occur on Friday night from the Caribou parking lot down to Finland. Trailering to one of the parking lots is recommended due to very low snow cover near Lake Superior. Please use caution while riding and expect spring riding conditions.

Our group will be at the Vermillion Dam Lodge this week end. We hope to head towards Pelican or Crane. If the trails are bad, we will just ride the lake. Maybe some water skippin at Trout Lake Portage????

Fast 440
You can ride in the Naytahwaush / Twin Lakes area near Mahnomen.

The trails have a 6 in. base of hardpack / ice and it has been cool all week. be warned that they haven't groomed it for 2 weeks though.

South of there near White Earth lake should be excellent as long as you stay in the woods.

150 + miles of trails to explore.

Fast

Bigfork River ripped this weekend! It was very fast and not too bad for icey corners. There were open areas however, so be carful. The lakes are good, as is most forest roads yet, unless they have been plowed any time during the winter.

I saw lots of sleds on trailers this weekend. None on the ice. Little American Falls is bad, stay away from it. I put on north of it and rode all the way to Big Falls and back. I may try it again next weekend.

I think we're done around Detroit Lakes.......

All done up here on the range as well, nothing but water and Mud, time to start riding the wheeler altho I did manage to put on over 400 miles on the wheeler this winter already so I have a head start on the summer fun, put about 10-20 miles a day on the wheeler this week behind the house checking snow depths in the woods and trying to get thru all my trails back there

The snow in the woods behind my house... Some of it is still to deep to get thru with the wheeler on my trails, really shaded areas there is still knee deep snow with 6" of water under it. The powerline behind my house was still ridable yesterday, I went for a spin on the sled out there to check it out
gumper800
