has anyone ever tried putting newer motor into the older style phazer.

i can get a 99phazer 500 motor and just wanted to know how much work it is going to be to get it to fit into an old chassis. i know the motor mounts are different but i could make some or rig something up if the rest is going to work. i need to use the engine cover, the fan and fan shroud and possibly the stator and flywheel from the 85 on the new motor. also i will need to use my old heds. it looks practicaly the same but yamaha part numbers ar slightly differen but i dont know what the numbers meen so i cant determin if the part wll work.


the motor mounts and most things are the same from 84-98 and also the 99mountain light, but all the phazer 500's have a different block.
