This summer Im getting a set of carb boots for my 600 so that I can remove the boost bottle.
Ive heard from several sources that a boost bottle does absolutely nothing for the 600 smallblock.
Ive had some problems with the idle hanging up around 3500-4000 rpm on my sled, would removing the boost bottle remedy or at least reduce this problem?

Idle hang as you stated is often caused by a lean low speed circuit. You need to richen the pilot jet by one size if you can't open the fuel screw or close the air screw (which ever you have) to fix the hang.

I think you'll find there isn't going to be that big of a diffrence one way or the other...
If anything, you'll find it more sensitive to low speed tuning issues, and carb sync. without the boost bottle.

The biggest reason I want to get ride of the boost bottle is so that it doesnt crack the boots and sieze my motor.
