I'm here tonight. Leave tomorrow morning for an overnight trip. Mark I'm not sure if we're going to be able to make it to "the hut" in time for your close...My thoughts are with you though when I'm trying to put on some miles...
Are you riding Sunday? I'm going for a jaunt Sunday morning. Maybe we can hook up somewhere on the trail. I'll be coming up from the bottom end of trail 20...

Perfect - See you then - 9am - Happy Corner Cafe...
Hey by the way, we'll probably be eating dinner there tomorrow night as well. What a shame, I have access to the best looking cabin in the area with a full size kitchen and I'm not cooking a DAM THING this weekend.

Conditions today were stellar but OMFG was it cold. I've never been so cold. The wind just cut through you. We got in 220 miles including a long lunch at Happy Corner and a short, closing time stint at the Snodeo. Is it me or was every moron in New England given a hall pass to head to Coleman. People parked in the middle of the trail on bling corners, 20 sleds parked blocking an entire intersection ...
Ugh!
Saw three big boy moose on trail 5 between 145 and 144 this PM though.

John lost his "Trail Patrol" equipment coming across the First Connecticut Lake the other day and some "Good Sameritan" returned them to him!
Mark :fluffy:
P.S. If anyone knows who returned the bags, John would like to thank them personaly. :div20:

Nice!
Did John lose the bag because of hitting those drifts on the ice?
We got some good air time on Tuesday - did you and Helga?

Three years ago I lost my camera, sat. phone and GPS ( with over 300 antler waypoints) It took two months BUT Chief richard called me to tell me that I was one lucky flatlandr.
ALL my stuff was returned
but the camera.
He then asked if I knew how to operate a digital camera ( THE SAME TYPE i LOST!)
HE SAID the PD really could use a camera, and said that he was kidding the camera was recovered too.
I gave the guy who found it 300 bucks reward, he is now my "best" pal...
John is good guy, with plenty of good karma, I am not surprised it return to him... :div20:

we did 251 on thursday and another 170 yesterday and you are correct every idiot was out. 4 sleds parked totally across the trail, you'd figure if you can afford a MachZ and a renegade 1000 you'd have the experience to not block the whole freaking trail. then you have the 25 mph hour rider wandering all over the trail so you can't pass on the straighaway.

I think its time we should have double air horns on the sleds for riders like that. Twice last week, a couple of sledders parked on the side of a trail (not at a junction) pulled out infront of me without looking first. I was leading a group at around 40mph and almost hit them. With over 10k miles under my belt, these were my first near collisions. :augen41: Both times the newbies were parked past a corner.

We saw several groups stopped in the middle of trails last Sunday & Monday too. It's a wonder there aren't more accidents from those situations.

i'm thinking of giving the chrome horn as they used to say in NASCAR next time I see one of these idiots. maybe a little tap will get them to smarten up.

They were out there today too. We rode down to coleman, and it was a HELLRIDE. I could be wrong but it didn't appear that SDR groomed a thing last night. at noon there were bumps 4 feet tall and 3 feet apart :banghead:

Hey 800stocker - Thank you man!!!
I've been reading reports of 2 feet of new snow, and thinking how great it would be if I was back up there riding. Thoughts of 4 foot moguls make being down in the bare ground zone less painfull. :div20: :div20: :div20:
Hey wait a minute - Your profile says you ride a Rev. All the Rev riders say they don't feel the bumps at all. What gives?
Ha - JK - Monster moguls suck! I don't care what you have for suspension.
